The skype integration is just great.

One little inprovement idea here:

If you have a skype account you can call a contact directly from the contact app.

It would be nice if the additional information (mobile), (home), (work) would be added on the buttons "Call with Skype"

Infos like (Mobile), (home) or (work) should be added after the Text "Call with Skype".

wouldnt it be just nice to have only the numbers shown and choose in a second screen which service to use? if you open up from history you will see only three entries until you tap the pic so you are most of the time forced to tap cell by accident. It would also clean the view as you dont have 4 pages to scroll with 4 numbers and 4 services active...

I dont like second tabs. Idea is to get to where you want to go as fast as possible.

If your idea would be followed I think it could be like this. Just a quick mock-up.

What do you think. Hope people will vote for this brainstorm anyhow.

nice idea but if I have cell+sms+mms(someday)+jabber-voice+voip(private)+voip(work)+skype there is not enough space!

to go there the fastest... all views should be the same so popping up from history should be the same as contacts tab and thats not working out atm as you only get cell+1 entries shown.

what is faster? taping the wrong and closing the phone app and do it again or a second screen? I am now used to it but sometimes I tap wrong with scrolling so I am calling jabber which wasnt I was after...

On my previous phone I had one entry shown, chose number with left and right (number or email or stuff) and an options button with popup for further actions like sms mms or send contact details... that was slow but tap once popup tap again isnt slow at all... saving taps is something people like to do for some reasons I dont understand

more interesting would be to have small icons in the overview of contacts to note whether there is an email adresse saved or not (this should be configurable with priority setting as portrait wont show them all and with status of IM accounts included if picked to show, maybe rolling if it doesnt fit in the space, also the contact card shown in your pic should have all status notes shown not only one icon...)

Might be an improvement for 95% of the N900 users.

I usually call Phone to Phone or send SMS.

I guess you can add a solution as well for this brainstorm, not?

keep the portrait mode in mind! there isnt enough space... the idea though is good.
this is a powertool and calling people is my least frequent thing, but either way it has to be smooth and constant all over the system. first time I opened a redial window I called the wrong number as the view confused me and I was to fast in tapping. learnd by try and error how it works...:mad:

just recognized yesterday that loading FAX numbers to the phone shows as
"Phone (unsupported)", filing a bug...

Good point about portrait mode. I don't miss portrait mode at all that's why I was not thinking about it.

Was wondering anyhow how portrait mode should work. Since you have widgets, shortcuts and stuff.

I guess the only way would be to have the user set up his desktops twice once for portrait once for landscape. Otherwise it will get messed up.

hi there. I have been away about 3 weeks. Now I see that the sandbox had enough votes to make it to [under consideration]

It also has some votes.

Having spent some times for the screen shot talking about the idea here it would acutally be nice to know if anyone cares.

How would one ever know if the idea has gotton any attention and might have a chance to be implemented by nokia?

This would have been so easy to implement in pr 1.2.

Gives me the impression Nokia is not reading the brainstorms (or my idea just did not make sense)

I hear often on this forum that the community involvment is such a great thing but somehow I feel like nokia is just leaving it up to you guys.
