can you give me more catalogs for me to download stuff i just have maemo trusted apps no devels or extra devels sorry for mistakes im new to this application manager catalogs thanks

done it and only have 169apps available.
but im still confused with people on youtube have loads apps and even games.
and can you help me install mupen64 (n64emulator) on n900

Are you sure you've got both extras-testing and extras-devel configured? You should have way more than 169 apps available.

If you look on the Extras page I gave you earlier, there's links through to Extras-testing and Extras-devel. On each of those pages there's information on how to activate the repository.

You dont have the extras catalogs - which means you didnt read the link posted several posts prior. When you actually do read it, then come back and try again

i cant cos i messed up a server address whilst installing a program on xterminal the server address is there and i cant get rid of it any help on that could let me install extras

I bet this user will be crying out loud next time a firmware update comes out: "I'm trying to install it and it keeps saying: not enough memory..."

Ok I have no idea what you mean here - follow the link in the post above and then follow the instructions contained on that page.

Short of us flying to you and setting it up for you I am not sure how much easier it can be made

I seriously doubt however that you are really ready for the extras repositories.

it doesnt say that it just says operation failed it just crashes when loading catalogs

Sounds like you've broke something while trying to install from the x-terminal.

A reason why there are warnings against this and strong recommendations that users don't do this.

Without knowing exactly what you tried to "install", what you ran, and exact error outputs - we cannot help you.

I would strongly recommend that if you *do* get this working again, to stop at extras-testing, or just extras. Extras-devel can and does cause other problems that I don't think you're equipped to handle just yet.

There is not going to be as many apps.. especially some of your emulators you want.. but it's just plain safe for you for now until those emulators move forward to more stable repositories.

*sigh* Yes.. that is for Ubuntu and Debian not Maemo.

You should not be following instructions on random websites in your X-Terminal.

WinFF may be possible to run on your N900 but I doubt those repositories at that link will do armel.

You could have easily messed something up in the apt sources.list file which is causing your catalog problem.

Reflash your phone and when it's working again please DON'T add the extra repositories...
