[ANNOUNCE] Sensitive Motion for the N900

Hi All,

Still fuelled by my love of this new device I decided to write another game, this time I wanted to use the accelerometer. This is the results of this weeks fun. Sensitive Motion.

Its based on a classic C64 game by Oliver Kirwa.

The idea is to roll your player around the level crossing/breaking all the ice-blocks on your way to the exit block. you must destroy every ice-block before you can exit.

Watch out for teleporters, double strength blocks, one-way blocks and conveyor belts too!

The game contains 24 predesigned levels but also includes a level editor for you to create up to 24 custom levels!

This game is totally free but if you'd like to make a donation feel free at my webpage http://30dbs.blogspot.com/

Its now available in the extras-testing repo, the usual warnings apply to any app from that repo. I fully redesigned all the graphics and levels too and added some new blocks. Please vote it up if you like it.

WARNING

Feel free to play with this software, but be aware that this is software under development. Do not install software from either Extras-Devel or Extras-Testing unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Cheers
Jamie

Nice game but I think the marble or whatever you are move a little too fast. Or maybe you aren't supposed to play this while you're traveling by car:D

Nice work, and great game too! (Although I haven't played the original version)

This is a great game, just don't let anyone catch you play it in public, or they'll think you have screen cleanliness OCD.

If I hit ctrl-backspace to send it to the background, it appears to use 30-40% cpu. It doesn't want to close if I hit the "x"(while in background) either.

On the other hand, it's a great game and fun to play. Thanks for the hard work.

Just confirming everything said here - Great fun little game to play, but sending it to the background does seem to jump up it's cpu usage (25-30% for me) and it currently won't close from the x in the task screen.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Sensitive Motion for the N900

I really like the game, but I've found one bug, though- When playing, and not touching the screen, the screens locks. If there's a hard level, the last I wanna do is being forced to touch the screen...

I think adding some inertia would help on the playablity (maybe not as much as in Maemo Labyrinth, though.

That's more likely to be a nackered accelerometer in your phone than a bug with this software.

It seems to me that if held horizontal, it works. ie sitting or standing and looking down at your N900.

But if held vertical, such as when lying on a couch or bed, it will only move left, right, down?, but not up.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Sensitive Motion for the N900

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind words, if you want to share and swap custom levels it can be done quite easily, SM uses a file in /opt called "custom_levels.bin" which contains all your own designed levels, simple swap it with someone elses.

Please remember to vote for my game if you like it!

Cheers
Jamie

But beware! If you replace your custom_levels.bin with a new one, your custom levels will be lost. So please make a backup of your own levels first.
Jamie: Maybe you could implement a levelpack selector? Just listing every *.bin file in that folder to choose? That would be awesome. I see a huge potential because it is so easy to make own levels!

Good idea zehjotkah! I'll try to implement that in a future version.

diagonal works, but only if performed 100% :D

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Sensitive Motion for the N900

no need for cheats or diagonals, the solid pad is the key to this level :)
