Come on Nokia!

Re: Nokia CP-408

This is a very good news!
For me it sounds as Nokia will invest in N900 more and more money - so we can expect good feature for N900.

Regards.

I currently own the CP-321 but I will admit having a more useful case would be helpful.........

Looks good. How does it secure itself closed? Is it magnets, button snap, or something else?

Re: Nokia CP-408

Amazon germany has it listed, though currently its out of stock. goes for 15,50 euros.

also, they have a high-res-picture of it.
cant find any other pictures or reviews, though.. looks interesting, but i'm not going to buy it before i see/read some user-experiences.

click here for the case on amazon germany

Re: Nokia CP-408

Regarding the securing method for the phone, does the hooks/tabs over the screen bezel scratch the finish of the bezel with repeated sliding open/close of the screen? Is there any soft material lining between the case and the phone to prevent such scratches?

Re: Nokia CP-408

I've been looking forward to the CP-408 release, and it looks very nice!

But after seeing the pics I'm left wondering what it does other than add bulk and offer some protection from impact...

Re: Nokia CP-408

anyone found it in stock in any online shop? please post here..thanks!:D

Re: Nokia CP-408

amazon germany has it in stock again!

but its not directly from amazon and you have to pay nearly 6 euros for delivery, which is really much (for a 14 euro product)

No, there isn't soft material between the plastic tabs and the phone. I hope they know what they're doing...

Re: Nokia CP-408

I received the case today from mobilefun. Really happy with the case so far.

This is a quality case that allows you to use your N900 while being in inside.

Also all buttons are accessible while in use

i just saw your post that you wrote before me xD
didnt see you already ordered it from mobilefun.

in the last pic from the link that dik posted you can see a guy holding the phone to his ear - can you "bend" the case completely back or will the middle part always stand off the way it does in the picture?
in other words: can you bend the case more than 90 degrees on any of the 2 edges?

also, how much extra height does it add to the device in total?
do you have the cp-321 case? can you post comparison-pictures if you do? :)

I would love this case but for the fact that, along with all cases, it has to be removed when using the brodit car mount :(

Re: Nokia CP-408

I just got my CP-408: what a load of crap!

OK, overstatement. But how are you meant to answer the phone? It's really quite fiddly to get the N900 out of the case (not something you want to do while it's ringing) and yet it's super-awkward to hold in a speaking position with the case still on.

In the N900's identity crisis, this is a score for "not a phone". The CP-408 is a great case for a mobile computer...

Kingsley 2010-04-01 09:38

Re: Nokia CP-408

I agree with spanner re good case for a computer.
It is indeed a lovely case and feels very well made.
odd to have an actual popper!
luckily it's been carefully designed so that doing up the popper doesnamt press the power button!
As far as talking on the phone goes.. case really doesn't want to bend backwards.. so it's a bluetooth headset situation really..

Re: Nokia CP-408

Actually I take that comment back, mostly.

Assuming you hold the phone in your left hand as you're talking (which I do), it's quite easy to hold the n900 between your thumb & little finger: thumb goes along the inside of the case's spine and your pinky rests by the power button.

In this position the flap of the case just sits along your neck. Trying this right-handed will get the flap in your face :)

Hmm... how about holding it in your left hand against left ear while talking? Would that help?

Re: Nokia CP-408

I had a similar Nokia case for my N96 and I would just talk with the case closed. It worked well enough, i could still hear and be heard clearly. But the N96 could also pop up out of the case if needed.

I would be interested to know if the bezel gets scratched too actually. Before I go and buy one. Thanks
