I tried this many times with different files. i tried even the same from the other PC , but it showing always the same message?!!! My friend has Sony ericson , and othe chinese mobile , and even other nokia mobile , all has working perfectly and transfer the file from PC to Mobile and VICA VERSE.!!!! Can any one help me in this? Thank you in advance. |

Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
If you're running WinXP without Nokia suite, right click on the Bluetooth icon in the tray and pick "receive file" It should open a dialog box. Just follow the instructions. When you send from your phone XP should prompt for a location and if you want to change the file name, etc.
If using Ububntu, OBEX push doesn't seem to work, although I didn't bother to get it going. Just select the phone in the drop down (under the BT icon), click "browse files" and it acts like any other drive. You're on your own for other OSs. |

I'm running on Windows XP OS... and I already enable the "receive file" from the blue icon. but still the result the same. to be specific .... i will say in the easy way... 1- I click the blue icone on PC and click " Receive file" 2- Pop up will appear on Windows XP saying waiting for the file. 3- Select photo or file from N900 4- Select share via bluetooth. 5- N900 start searching fro devices. 6- PC showing on the N900 screen as a device. 7- Select PC. 8- Just when i click on PC it will show Immediately " Connection failed to PC. |

Similar problem here and no solution found yet. I connected to PC Suite with bluetooth when I first got my N900 and ever since then it works fine with the USB cable but NOT with bluetooth. Now when I select the paired PC on my N900 over bluetooth it gives the "Connection failed" message. When I turn on bluetooth on the N900, the PC alerts me that the N900 is connected over bluetooth, and the N900 icon shows up in My Computer, but none of the folders in the N900 icon show up (they show up fine with the USB cable). None of the contacts show up in the contacts manager in PC Suite. Nothing works over bluetooth but works fine with the USB cable. It's damn annoying. |
Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
I've had same problem since day 1 as well.
I can send from the PC >> N900 but not the other way with Win 7 32 bit . The Petrovich client doesn't work either. |
Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
This has come up before.
I was able to send files but my n900 was fussy as to which profile was identified first. see a workaround here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40960#4 |
Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
I decided to delete the paired PC from the N900, uninstall PC Suite from the PC, restart the N900 and the PC, reinstall PC Suite on the PC, reset the paired bluetooth device passkey, so pretty much got rid of everything and started fresh, and it worked. I was again able to sync to PC Suite over bluetooth, the N900 folders showed up again, the N900 contacts showed up again on PC Suite on the PC. If the same issue happens again, I'll try this same sequence again.
This is to communicate with PC Suite on a paired PC. This was not the "Transfer and sync" function under the Settings button on the N900. |

Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
I have not been able to use the "Transfer and sync" function either. I tried playing with it and when I click to "Select a device" it searches indefinitely and no devices show up on the N900. But with bluetooth the N900 does pick up the PC and I'm able to sync with PC Suite.
At least you can send files to the PC through PC suite. If your N900 is paired with your PC, you can also just open the N900 through "My Computer" (if you're on a Windows system) and drag and drop files whever you like. |
Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
I cant send photos to my laptop by bluetooth. It works to other phones. My pc cant find the necessary device drivers and I gave up with pc suite when it told me to install OVI and then said it doesnt support n900.
I just tried going to my computer to drag and drop and could se an icon called n900 but then got a message about FTP not ok, and now when I go to my computer its not showing as a device. So annoying, all I want to do is bluetooth photos, surely this is possible?? |

Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
thanks for that. Way over my head I'm afraid.... basically with my n95, I switched my bluetooth on, my laptop immediately knew it was there and image manager kicked in and stored all my new images via bluetooth.
What is the equivalent of this, it just must be possible to bluetooth photos to the pc.... mind you I cant make groups in contacts for sending emails to all my staff, so maybe this is just another basic 'missing feature!' |
Re: Bluetooth Issue - File transfer
Problem is there are BT issues, so that's why I was suggesting you may look at the other thread.
