Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Thats a really good looking theme. can't wait.
Sorry but I can't tell you much about making .debs. NIce work. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Looks like my maemo-org theme with custom background and icons. I might be wrong either way I don't mind you using my work if it is I would just like credit atleast. To build your themes look here http://wiki.maemo.org/MADDE/Theme_Building I just took this from stskeeps blog and wikified it. If you have any questions just ask,
|
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Custom backgrounds and icons... what's left then?
It's based on the stock theme Digital Nature. If I took something from your work I'll give you credits for it. Do I need to download 650MB only for making themes? Mmmm... seems we N900 users needs a theme installation program... Just compressing the theme folder and icon folder and renaming the That's what I did on my Motorola Z6. Thanks for the info! |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
You know that you can't distribute original digital life bitmap files since their copyrights are owned by Nokia?

Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
In any fashion, this is a great looking theme.
I'd like a copy of it, officially or not. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Theme looks great. Please release even a beta version for us to try.
(even zipping it up for us to extract to /usr/share/themes) But may need to change the top bar icons if that can cause legal issues... |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Hey CepiPerez,
Is that humanity theme from extras devel i just installed yours? I like most of things about. How are things going with the icons? A couple of suggestions I would like to offer. These are only personal preferences so don't be offended. It is great work. The orange background for the conversations is a little harsh on on the eye. If maybe it was changed to a darker shade taken from the desktop wallpaper it would like a little better. Also, the virtual keyboard keys don't change colour when pressed to confirm they were touched. Thanks again. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Great theme!
+1 for the orange background for the conversations. Is it normal the the icons on the media player screen and on the Clock screen have not been modified (like your screenshot 2 & 3) ? Thanks again, that's a terrific theme! |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Hi again CepiPerez,
Are you going to update the theme with those other icons for filemanager, clock, tools etc? They are very cool. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Pretty awesome i must say. This will be my next theme. Would love to see more Gnome based ones.

Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
What's up with this theme? Icons still a problem?
Immediately after release of Ubuntu 10.04 I'm missing the old colour scheme. Maybe I should put those wonderful orange-browns into my phone... :) |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
I just made a different wallpaper set following a guide. My image is 3200 x 400 and when sliced to four equal parts is still equirectangular, but when loaded onto the phone, there seems to be a loss of pixels making the background look like 2 1600 px images. It looks like there is a join.
Any tips Cepi? ***EDIT*** Never mind, I think I found what I did wrong. Okay I am too embarrassed to say what I did wrong. Anyway, I chopped up a cool Karmic Koala wallpaper, to make a loopable set which goes well with CepiPerez's lovely theme. Not to say the one included in the theme isn't nice too! http://lookpic.com/d2/i2/3948/8qoOhXQS.jpeg and this one loop together perfectly, as I flipped them horizontally so they can come back and meet up on the other 2 screens. http://lookpic.com/d2/i2/594/8xqDWCxe.jpeg Please be sure, I didn't create the original wallpaper, just trimmed it to fit an n900. :) Props to the original creator. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
So sorry did you make those two images so, that they can be shown one after the other, seamlessly flowing from one to the other? Or is there a background pack I should still know about? :)

I didn't get the icons when I installed this theme. Got it through Appmanager... doing something wrong? :S Did a boot after installing, no effect. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
The version in extras-devel is just a test one.
It's unfinished. I guess I need to finish this now... |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
I really like the overall look and feel of this theme. Way better than anything else so far, simple and very elegant. Kindly finish the theme, anxiously waiting for it ~

Ok, I'll do this.
But give some time, I'm really busy reading Dave999's PR1.2 thread :D |

Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
I don't like the new version. It's all grey instead of the beautiful gradient black.
Couldn't you make 2 versions ? :) |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Very Good looking!
thanks |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Version 0.3 uploaded to extras-devel
This is the one you are looking for |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
where are the new icons ?
|
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
I couldn't get the new icons either.
First I just tried updating the theme by having it "switched on" and just applying update. Icons didn't appear, did a boot, icons still wouldn't appear. Uninstalled theme and retrieved it again. Still no icons and this time the background images were missing. :/ |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
The same for me...please check it! no icons & background
|
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Uninstalled and remove all files, then installed it again
It's working fine for me Please you show me the followig folders: /usr/share/themes/humanity /usr/share/icons |

Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
ok I have removed the humanity folder within the themes folder and re-run the install of the humanity-theme via the apt-get to get a better logging. I get a weird error during the install process but the installs finishes and the theme is installed (my phone is in French though)
Code:
Nokia-N900:/usr/share/themes# apt-get install humanity-theme |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
I've checked 0.3 version and I forgot to change some data (sorry for this)
I've uploaded version 0.4. It should appear in repositories in a few minutes. Hope it works fine now. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Excellent everything works now like a charm!
The icons really add to the look of this theme! :) |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Seems like you're still using graphics from Nokia's Digital Life -theme or am I wrong?
|
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
Thanks CepiPerez. Nice work.

Are you shure you checked the 0.4 version? Not all icons appeared in previous versions and even after installing 0.4 I had to boot to get everything. |

Basically I wanted to ask if this theme is Digital life but with few new / modified icons :) And if you look what /usr/share/themes/humanity/css/colors.css -file says: Code:
This file contains CSS definitions for all the Maemo desktop theme colors and fonts. |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
very nice work :)
Thanks very much, this will be my theme for a little while ! |
Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
I don't understand why is the Engadget logo used for the WLAN status and why is the trademarked Adobe logo used for the PDF viewer. Other than that it looks OK.

Re: [Help] Ubuntu Humanity theme
