Angry Birds Levelpack back in OVI-Store (Edit: and now not, again) (Edit: yay back lol)
 

Hi there,

just a heads up, the Angry Birds Levelpack is back in Ovi-Store for (in my case) € 2,99. This is the chance for all of us who just installed it last time to buy it now and show Rovio that it makes $en$e to develop more great games like this one for Maemo5 / MeeGo :)

Shame, and in the US it is USD 2,99 ;)

Looked for a thread but could not find it, also the auto-suggest when creating this thread did not come up with it.

I thought it is worth a bump anyway, Angry Birds is hands down the best game on the N900 ATM and the platform needs more of that :)
Judging from a tweet ('It all went wrong') Rovio (maker of AB) seemed really disappointed.
Time to show them we want them and are willing to pay for good work!

It might be in terms of spending power, don't know exactly. I do not really care as the price is OK for me (and I think most people, anyway).

btw. Germany has got it. You just need to select Popular apps and not free apps.

Remember that there are different VATs in different countries, that's one reason for different prices. (And they don't want to sell for 2.64€ but round up to 2.99€ for psychological reasons.)

Good to see that there are finally some commercial apps / games coming to our great device.

It is there but did not appear in any of the lists. I did a search and it appeared.

If Roxio are dissapointed with the N900 experience then it is not down to the community. I had tried to buy this when it first came out and been waiting ever since. The samy with Sygic Sat Nav.

It is annoying that developer are seemingly being held back by the flakiness of the current OVI store. :(

easy way to get it.

click on Angry birds

and there a list of releated stuff
Pack1 is there for £3

i donwloaded. but its a debian package, and so need to install at command like as root

dpgk -i filename

No. Just go to the file manager, find the file and click it. App manager will launch and install it.

I think thats only for people who have the latest firmware. I had to use x terminal to install the deb file because it doesn't install directly from app manager when i select it from the list. I don't have the latest firmware.

I've finally been able to buy this after having installed it months ago!
I'm still concerned for Rovio that the "Download" link gives you a direct copy of the deb to save...

yeah copy that one to the side.
though i suspect the pack would just install over it.

and i said originally any levels you played on my pack 2 will have unlocked and set "WRONG" high scores for the new rovio ones

I tried buying extra levels earlier to see if it works. I was directed to a page saying I can't buy through ovi store yet, but I should leave my email.

I just tried again and still get the same page. Am I missing something?

just purchased it with pre-paid visa for some reason i got charged £4 instead of £3.
just waiting for email reciept before i know who to blame all i know in past on app stores i've never been charged any hidden fees when using pre-pay visa's

Something definately up. have you tried rebooting or clearing the cache? works fine even in UK on old firmware!

You can go directly to the Ovi Store to buy the level pack. We just haven't yet updated the URL redirect which points to the "not yet available" page when you click the link inside the game.

Please, don't tell that you get unprotected .deb (didn't have time to take a look at this).
If this is true, it is another Ovi Fail I'm afraid. I will take a look at this later sometime.

now if only the ovi store by default wouldn't show free stuff but new popular stuff free/cost. most people won't notice the level pack until that happens. Shouldn't be that difficult to change.. Why they don't have a new category for everything I just can't understand.

One other thing OVI should have implemented is being able to purchase apps on your desktop for example by bank transfer or anything, then having them enabled on your account so you can easily download them later on your phone.
Again shouldn't be that difficult to implement?

There was some news about Nokia making deals with many carriers so that you could purchase something and it would show up in your next phone bill. This not implemented for N900 Ovi yet, or someone got this option?

I'm trying to buy it. I'm an Ami living in Germany using an american credit/check card, and it keeps telling me that my transaction is denied. I've tried both mastercard and visa.

Come on Nokia, I want to give you my money.

Unfortunatly so. The deb is identical (according to diff) to the one that we could get before it was taken from the Ovi Store originally, but at least you can't just 'apt-get install' it any more.

The Ovi store now provides a small barrier to piracy, but it will of course still be possible.

That said, anyone that pirates this game deserves to have annoyed raptors thrown at them.

If I uninstalled the whole game, all scores would get reset right? Or is there a easier way to get rid of scores from pack 2?

Thats a bummer :( They should make it carrier billable (but of course without dedicated client this might not be possible) and include PayPal...

I hope Rovio (still) intends to release Level Pack 2 for the N900, despite of what's happened.
