Re: What 'cha listening to??
Tool - Lateralus - 2001
I really haven't got around transferring all my music to my N900, I'm kinda lazy. Also it doesn't fit, it's ~40.5GB. I guess I'll have to use TVersity / Orb to access my music while on the go.. |
Re: What 'cha listening to??
so not many music enthusiasts around these parts? :(
|
Re: What 'cha listening to??
I also only threw a couple albums on there, so I'd have something, I think the oldest is Taproot - Gift :) (2000)
|
Re: What 'cha listening to??
I don't do albums. Carpenters are the oldest stuff I have on my my mobile device so 1970's.
Edit: Have just checked and the oldest track on my mobile device is 'A Teenager In Love' by Dion and the Belmonts from 1959. |

I am browsing thru my collection on the N900, albeit a very tiny one, to see what is the oldest and the newest... :) I used TVersity with the N8x0, it worked fine. For no reason, I have recently switched to Window Media Player 11, it seems doing fine with the N900 and I have sticked to it to stream my 60 G music, it takes some time on 1st run but has been doing just fine. I tried Orb in the pass, never get it to work and lost interest. Edit: Now I remember, I wiped out the computer by mistake, and upon reinstallation, too lazy to install TVersity while WMP is already with the system, that is why. Edit: On N900 oldest: Living for the city, Stevie Wonder (1972) a tie with Penelop, Paul Mauriat (1972) newest: : Emmanual 2 sound track, Joys of a woman (1975) Francis Lai (French) Streaming with Window Media Player, oldest: Earth Angel, Penguins (1954) newest: keeps on growing :) bun |
Re: What 'cha listening to??
The oldest tracks i have on my N900 were recorded by Robert Johnston in 1936/37
The newest is Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More (2009) edit - i also have some classical that was written in the 19th century but recorded more recently (obviously) |

Most recent complete album probably Guilt Machine, On This Perfect Day Currently listening to Ladyhawke Total music ~25GB |
Re: What 'cha listening to??
I think the oldest album currently on my N900 would be Venom - Black Metal (1982).
|
Re: What 'cha listening to??
Sunbirds(Self Titled) 1971 BASF - Mellow jazz fusion
|
Re: What 'cha listening to??
While not technically the oldest release, "The Music of Raymond Scott" is a re-mastered release of his music released in the 1920s and 30s. Much of it will sound familiar if you ever watched Warner Brothers cartoons.

Re: What 'cha listening to??
I have quite the eclectic mix. I literally listen to everything from flapper music up to the 1970s. I completely skip the 80's. and come back in the 90s.
the oldest music I have is from Eddie Cantor, the 1920s. Eddie Cantor - Makin Whoopie (look it up. crazy song) Eddie Cantor - Ain't She Sweet (resung in the 60s by like the beatles or something) I have some rag stuff too from scott joplin, and the waves of danube. I guess the only thing older than that is classical, which I Don't listen to. lol. |
Re: What 'cha listening to??
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, 1959.
|
Re: What 'cha listening to??
The vast majority of my tunes have been released only in the last few years seeing as I generally listen to progressive/psy trance, ambient psy and breaks, but I also enjoy old school rock, which would make Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967) the oldest album on my N900.

Re: What 'cha listening to??
Well I dont have any albums on my n900, but i do have a 1940s pandora station that i listen to pretty often :)
Nothing better than some sinatra, mel torme, or ella fitzgerald. |
Re: What 'cha listening to??
Oldest Album on my N810 is "My Generation" by The Who circa 1965 (same age as me!). As I have just about all the Who's studio albums on there, then they count for about the 5 oldest albums (Who Sellout, Who's next, A Quick One, Tommy).
Oldest none Who is Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd from 1973. Most of the other stuff is rock from the likes of Cars, Queen, Bon Jovi, Extreme. Newest stuff is Chickenfoot, Kid rock, and GNR's Chinese Democracy. To see what I am/have been listening to then check out my username on Last.fm. Join the Maemo users and canola groups on there as well. |
