edit a received message??
 

is it possible to edit a message that ive received via text message??

im guessing its a sudo gainroot job, but i dont know where to look in the system file structure to find the messages!

SMS are stored at /home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger/el.db

You need some sort of SQLite browser
I used http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/

i dont want to forward it, i want to edit the message but keep it in my message log..

would forwarding it to yoursel, removing the FW tag work? then remove the old message?

nice idea but no, because then the conversation would be all messed up, but I like your way of thinking..

.. all joking aside it would be a cool little feature to have, to wind people up with, look what Mr X sent me a few days ago :)

Damn conversation style text messages, lol. Best bet would be to do an SQL select on the conversations database as suggested
