LED light/emulators etc

Hi few questions:

How can i turn the leds on to use it as a torch? I downloaded an app which i thought would do it but after it downloaded it dissapeared!?!?

Theres lots of emulators, how do i go about playing them!? Where do i get the games!? I'd love to play the original doom on it is that simple to do?

Also what happened to the recent update that UK never got?

Thanks

Wayne

Elaborating on blue_led's post,

You can turn on the flashlight applet (via Status Menu) when the camera lens is exposed, and the camera application is closed.

You need to download ROMs to use emulators (I will not post any links, due to the disputed moral responsibilities of downloading them). Search it on Google, beware of viruses and other malware.

Most emulators have customizable button layouts, so you can choose them to fit your needs.

As for the UK update, search the forums. There's plenty of discussion, both constructive and destructive.

(P.S.: PrBoom is a doom port, and has a bunch of preloaded levels. Not sure if it's extras or extras-testing)

Thanks guys, is it easy to install the roms on your n900 when you download/purchase (lol) them?

I have PrBoom but it's just a video demo!? I can't find how to play it myself!

That's already in extras-devel, I believe.

wrcaller, you can also change the key bindings by looking through Options.

Although I have to agree. The N800 seemed much better at gaming (perhaps because it was bigger?).

Once people stop finding loopholes to download it for free. -.-

It was in, then out, then in, and back out again.

Not just all about the screen size, it's about the USB OTG and D-pad as well as the screen.

Yes, it's still there. I've installed it. But I couldn't allocate a Button or a coursor key. It seems to be only a test application, "Yes, the Zeemote is connected and working", but I still can't use it for something useful.

so you are judging n900 only because you don't have any accessories that makes it very promising mobile gaming device?

Imo a good gaming mobile shouldn't require using a controller from another (better) gaming machine. Kinda wish the N900's screen was capacitive, kinda get jealous when i see my bro playing online FPS's with 2 fingers fluently on his itouch.

Ok this is boring now, but there's 100's of fun games for the iPhone, uhm maybe 2 or 3 for my N900, the rest require me to v.uncomfortably try and use the keyboard or go and buy a ps3/WIii controller :/
