Can't access Ovi Store from N900
 

Hi All

hope this hasn't been asked already but I have search high and low and I've not seen any mention of this issue anywhere else.

Since I've done my last firmware upgrade (I'm UK based), I can't access the Ovi store from the N900. It simply says 'Upgrade your Nokia N900 to enter Ovi Store'. And then gives instructions. Of course I have done tried that but there is no update available and I know I am on the latest version for the firmware. The version stated in 'about product' is: 3.2010.02-8

Any ideas what I can try to overcome this? Is flashing the only way? Bit weary of flashing as I lost all my contacts last time I did that!

Yes I did flash it before for an earlier update but the Ovi store worked fine after that. When I upgraded to this version (without flashing) the Ovi store stopped working

Can you elaborate what you mean by 'stopped working'
What exactly happened? The Ovi page cannot load?

did you download Hide user agent?
if yes,disable this and try again.

Hey pascas. Thanks a lot, that worked! I used Hide user agent for the android/buzz work around so. Thats a great relief, really appreciate the help!

i've the same prob without hide user agent.
it starts round about 2 days ago. clicking on OVI-Store and the message "upgrade your nokia n900 to enter ovi store" pops up.
i thought i do something wrong so i flashed the phone to reset it.
i use RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
but after this ovi don't work either.
what can i do?
i regognize the flash wasn't a full flash. e.g contactsare still there.

Flash with the latest version the one you have used is the old version, there have been updates since,

2010.02-8 is the latest firmware

i have the latest firmware and the ovi store tell me i must upgrade @application manager and that don't work.
i think this sucks...

Try doing (in X Terminal):
Then reboot and see whether that's fixed it.

I've the exact same problem. But the suggested fix did not work for me. Microb didn't start anymore. Any more ideas how to fix this?

Was having problems with Ovistore in MicroB.

At this end i hit REMOVE from within the 'hide user agent' application options within settings and bingo, Ovi store now works.

Well, Ovi store now loads in the browser but some internal server error on the Ovi site seems to exist ffs (site still down after updating ??).

Yeah Ovi Store now works for me, as in it loads and shows the apps - but if I try to download I get an "internal server error".

OMG i have the same problem!! Then i followed the instructions posted on page 2, i.e this:




and now my MicroB browser doesn't start at all!! Well it does start but it shows a black screen and closes after 3 secs.......the OVI store doesn't work either, it doesn't open up anymore......


somebody plz help??? I dun wanna reflash coz i installed tons of stuff already.....

I am stuck with this problem aswel.

The terminal command mentioned above just renames my microb folder to microb.old, which it should do, but when i start microb next, it does not create a new microb folder, so microb will not run.

search app manager for hide and install the hide user agent. then click the remov button in hide user agent (in phone settings) worth a try, worked for me anyway. :)

Just to throw this into the mix, I have *not* upgraded to PR 1.2 and downloaded a few things fine.

Aha - Ovi store button in apps asks me to upgrade, ovi shortcut pre installed on one of the desktops takes me there fine...

i made a purchase in ovi store and it would not open after that. it says that the site is not available for my device. it looks like i am still logged into my account as the username is on the screen. tried to log out but i get to the same page which says that the site is not available.

please help!!

It doesn't work here either. Just switch the phone's language to US english and it should work. At least it worked for me

Same here. It worked fine before, I've purchased Zen Bound couple days ago. Now when I go to ovi store I get "ovi store is not available for this device" message.

I've checked, my useragent is not customized.

it showz mv: cannot rename mv /home/user/.mozilla/microb /home/user/.mozilla/microb.old no such fole or directry
