Sending radio frequencies and IR codes

Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
Hi rod.rio
i've tried qtirreco, but it doesnt seem to allow anything else than downloading preset remotes from various brands... what if i cant find mine? (that is the case, unfortunately) i'd love to do a step by step button by button, send and save to the n900... |
Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
Then take a look at this.. http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/irreco/ and http://maemo.org/packages/view/irrec...internal-lirc/
Have not tried so cant say anything about it. |
Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
OS2008 aint N900 , right ?
Thanks for the links, but there's nothing useful there yet... |
Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
OS2008 is an older version of Maemo used by other internet tablets.
N900 uses Maemo 5 also known as fremantle. |
Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
The N900 IR port is a transmitter only, not a receiver, so cannot be used to record other remotes.

Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
No IR receive seems very unusual. Mostly IR ports are designed to permitt IR communication between devices, which requires the ability to recieve. If it says 'IR port' is should be both tx and rx- otherwise it isnt really a 'port'. It should say 'transmitter' and not 'port' if there is no receiver.
I suspect the receiver is there, but perhaps undocumented. |

Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
I'd be really upset about the lack of a receiver if there was anything worth watching on TV these days :D I used to use OmniRemote on my Treo to copy TV remotes and stuff. My old Treo 180 was even better for this, it got much better range than the 650.

Re: Sending radio frequencies and IR codes
Why include an IR port if it is only a transmitter? The emitter is too low power to make it useful as a replacement for a normal remote control, thus it must be for device to device transfer.
