Teeworlds for the N900 ?
 

I just saw teeworlds in devel. Dont know what it is (i know teeworlds and love that game) and where it comes from. On my N900 it is not working. Background and the buttons is everything i see. Anybody news on this ?

edit : I found out that mikkov is doing that port. Cant wait to play it on my N900 :)

Thx a lot just played Teeworld and it is nice. Only thing is that i cant change the name of the Tee. Keyboard input did not work on this one, but that does not border me much :)

I have a question..Do you guys have problems keeping up with others? I mean they are using PCs with mice so They have a huge advatage.

Is there any way to play amongst N900 users? Or better yet since there won't be many N900users online at the same time, one could implement some sort of auto aim or something similar. I can hardly play at all.

When doing these ports, it would be nice if there would bse some customazation made to games, like bigger fonts etc :D

I think your own control mapping is crucial. I dont like the default one as I'm left handed and it feels awkward.

:D There is some, you probably wouldn't like to play this game with original relative mouse controls (or with no graphics). And believe it or not, but the fonts are 20% bigger than in original. But let's just say that this game's target group is young people with fast fingers and good eyes :)

Oh, and Teeworlds has entered extras-testing. If you would like to see this in extras and get more N900 players, go and vote at http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...0.5.2-1maemo2/

Of course remember to read testing instructions from where ever they are (wiki.maemo.org/somethingsomething)

An easier method would be to simply mod the Teeworlds. That would make the servers unique compared to all other online servers.
That way, only the devices (in this case the n900) would be able to see those servers, and not any other.

I'm pretty sure it would only require 1 single edit from the source code. Could be the window title.

How do I find servers?
Wehn I clear all the filter options and say refresh I still get no servers :-(

Odd did it right now. Worked fine, but took some time to load them all.
Latest Version and connected to the net ?

@mikkov would it be possible to make the aim movements to something like up and down. Would be a better way to play that game.

I took these exact steps:
1 - Load Teeworlds
2 - click filter tab on right - untick all filter options
3 - Click refresh at the bottom
4 - I wait and nothing happens.

I'm on a wifi network at the moment, and my version is 0.5.2

There is a connect button at the bottom right with
Host Address:
localhost: 8303

above it do I need to connect? and if so if that the correct host address?

Tried it with the SixAxis but it doesn't work so good... Mikkov, do you already have a SixAxis or do you need one to make your ports SixAxis compatible?

Did you test with the reset button too ?
Did you get never ever servers, or is it just when you untick all the filter options?

You do not need that connect Button now, That's for connecting to the Gameserver you can choose from the list when it works on your N900. That "Host Address: localhost: 8303" is kinda funny. "Host Address" shows normaly the IP of the Gameserver you want to connect. Did you try to erase that, so the field gets blank ?

steps taken this time.
1 - Open teeworld
2 - Erase host address:
3 - Click on "Reset Filter"
(this basically puts a x next to "campatible Version" and "standard gametype"
4 - Click on "Refresh"

under the internet tab I just see "no servers found"

What do you have written under "host Address"?
I also notice that under the "demos" tab after I hit refresh that there is nothing showing either :-(

could you give me a step by step of what you do and whats ticked etc?

Nothing, when i dont choose a server.
Demo is emty for me too.
Here is a Host Address i saw right now:
188.40.193.130:8301
Try this and hit connect. Maby it finds others when it has one ??

I just turn on my wifi, then i open teeworls, i can tick/untick what i want, i allways get new servers.

is 0.5.2 the most up todate version.

Also do you maybe think the network I'm on is blocking port ports or something.
I tried over 3g but that wouldn't work either ...

Also what do you have in the box that says max ping?

Edit: Just used 3G and that worked form me too.
Looks like something messed up your teeworlds.

hey why not modify to use the accelerometer to move the tee and fingers to shoot?
There's plenty of great guy here.. who i am sure could do it

Great game.

I don't think usage of the accelerometer is possible because this is just a port/recompiling of the game for maemo.

Accelerometer support will have to be from a different app that translates the accelerometer inputs as key presses. Accelemymote might work for that (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=45482)

Virtually unplayable against others who have a normal size keyboard and a mouse.
Tried it, deinstalled it.

Is anyone actually good at this on the N900? I tried it, and im guessing that i was playing against people with keyboard and mouse =P

Looks like a cool game though! The controlling is a bit off. But ill give it a go and see if i can work something out :P

You have to note that Teeworlds is a hard game. Even with PC you would have been frustrated after 15 minutes of play. But with N900 it's even harder, sure :)

If there is enough interest, somebody will setup a server meant only for N900 players.

I agree, I've played it on the desktop and a laptop, I still get demolished. But if we have an N900 only server that helps remove the advantage from having a full sized keyboard and mouse at least. And maybe there will be enough newbies like me so it's not impossible to win. =P
