Re: independent facebook application
oh lord, watch some people come on this thread with statements like "why do you want a facebook app when you can just visit the site on your phone" and "i dont use facebook so i see no reason for an app"...etc
I would quite like for an fb app but it appears that the crowd that the n900 has is not very interested. |
Re: independent facebook application
http://touch.facebook.com/ or http://lite.facebook.com/ should work really well in the browser.

Re: independent facebook application
Doesn't facebook use Jabber for IM now? There's no need for a separate application when it comes to that.

Re: independent facebook application
I think the topic creator wants an integrated Facebook app experience like the iPhone's (chat, photo uploading, browsing, etc..)
As for the creator's question. It depends on the API's Facebook releases for 3rd party developers. I suspect most things aren't accessible via the API so unless Facebook does the application themselves or someone hacks around there's going be nothing like the iPhone Facebook app. |

Re: independent facebook application
Have you already tried:
http://touch.facebook.com http://lite.facebook.com/ But i´m sorry. There is no APPLICATION for this. Facebook status updates you can do from webpage and chat is integrated to N900 with jabber as is all the image/video sharing also. .edit Quite slow :) Had to take beer. |
Re: independent facebook application
just like the twitterbox alpha which was announced..as simple as that

Re: independent facebook application
As a previous poster noted the great thing about the N900 is the plugins to the maemo platform that enable so many features. Photo sharing and chat are plugged in to the system directly, there is a widget showing my friends status updates all day long, when I touch that it launches lite.facebook.com which is very good on the N900 and gives me access to every feature of facebook that I need (I don't play any of the farmville games etc).
I have an ipod touch and always use that to compare experiences with my N900 and I much prefer using the N900 than the iPhone facebook app. |
