[ANNOUNCE] TwitterBox is now TweeGo!
 

Hello, unfortunately the name TwitterBox is already in use by an iPhone application www.twitter-box.com , therefore we changed the name to TweeGo.
We hope you guys keep testing, sending bugs reports and feedback about it.

Wow, what an amazing looking application. I've been waiting for something like this!

I've just started using it myself. The one thing I'd like to see added ASAP would be the ability to scroll up and down your twitter timeline with the arrow keys on the keypad. I almost exclusively use the arrows for navigation around webpages as it's easier to do one handed than using the touchscreen, and am sorely missing this feature in this app.

Other than that, it really does look amazing so far, keep up the good work!

Just got this installed... wow! Looks very promising, just what the N900 needs!

I have a few requests / suggestions for any upcoming releases:

1. List support.

2. Speed up the slide animation when clicking on a tweet (and going back to the timeline), will make it feel quicker IMO.

3. The ability to click on a username to view their profile and tweets (I couldn't figure out how to do that if its already there)

4. Instead of clicking on more to get the next tweets, an option to automatically load the next ones when you get to the bottom would be good.

5. An option to display usernames as the actual name.

6. When it posts to twitter, it comes from API. Is it possible to have it coming from TweeGo? Not a big deal or high on importance though.

Hope this can help with the development of TweeGo!

EDIT: I don't know if you are aware or if it is just me, but my virtual keyboard doesn't seem to work to add text into the textfield.

I can't get Tweetgo to accept my Twitter name and password. It says "wrong username/email and password combination.

We're going to go through all of your suggestions and release a new version with bugs fixed and features added by the end of this week.
Yes, I am aware of the virtual keyboard, but thanks for reminding me. That should also be fixed and included on the next release.

just a quick tip to anyone considering installing Tweego: you can install Mobile Weather to satisfy Tweego's dependencies...took me a lot of digging to solve that one :)

This is only possible when using OAuth now (and for projects already existing when they made the change).

Twitter is due to shut down the basic auth support in June I believe, so better get working on OAuth support ;-)

We're already thinking about it, we're gonna fix most bugs now and add a couple features on this week release, and OAuth support should be available on the following release.

I have problem running the app.

When the app starts up, after the spinning circle moves off the screen downwards, the app will close by itself.

I'm looking forward to using this app, can the developer help me in resolving this?

When I was installing the deb file, it was indicating that qt4-maemo5-network and qt4-maemo5-core is not installed, but I can't find any site (I used google BTW) that can help me on this.

Try downloading the "Mobile Weather" app, that should install all the required dependancies for Tweego :)

Nice looking app. QUick thoughts so far
* Best not to have predictive text for twitter password entry field (result is also that previously entered passwords in this box are saved - not good)
* Sometimes when cursor is in password fieldm text goes into username field
* During logon, no screen corner allows user to go back to main desktop/task list
* Remember me seems hard to select
* If a password attempt fails, the login username field looses the first character
* sometimes highlit text gets left behind in login name field
* WHen typing password would be great if alpha appeared momentarily before being *'d
* login field defaults to caps for first char -- this isn't usual for username field?
* After one successful login I failed to login again (api limit perhaps)

Will try more later. Hope the above feedback is useful & thanks for creating -- this could be a great twitter app!

another thought. the activities that cause the progress indicator.... be great if they were handled asynchronously to improve interactivity.

really liking what i see so far. could be a real gravity (the benchmark) alternative.

can support for non fullscreen be added. for tweets a clock is also potentially important.

type in terminal (as root):

dpkg -r tweego (or twitterbox depending on which one u installed)
