Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

Ok So The Psp Go has a feature that allows it to tether to cellphones via bluetooth and log online anywhere. Problem Is im unable to even detect my n900 with my psp go no matter what i do, iv even made a video to show what i mean. Does anyone have any idea why the N900 is undetecable by the psp go?:confused::confused:

I know this does not fix your problem but there are sometimes more than one way to skin a cat!

Have you considered installing Jokiusoft on your N900 and just sharing via wifi? I believe the PSP-GO will connect to wifi points which is what jokiusoft will give you.

Plsu you will be able to connect other devices at the same time which the bluetooth option will not allow

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

Try installing the bluetooth DUN package and see if it would work then. Though it might be a problem that PSP refuses to even check if the DUN profile is supported since the device reports itself as computer and not phone in the BT device class.

The mobile hotspot currently also only supports Ad-Hoc wifi for connection sharing but since that seems to work well enough for now it may be that we'll be looking into getting AP mode working next (though it might be impossible due to limitations of the radio hardware).

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

I don't have BlueMaemo and I don't have the DUN, and my PSP-Go is able to sucessfully detect and connect to my N900... Although... It doesn't do anything, lol. Maybe one of your softwares is interfering with it?

Since you're talking about PSP Go... hows psp go? im planning to buy one? is it like psp 3000 which you can download games by searching for files over internet? i mean on psp 3000, you can download games for free... coz theres a lot of websites there where you can download games... can you also do that on Go?

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

the games are linked to the PSN account name so meaning if u the owner changes the password u will become blockedout of the gameson ur go because it verifys online when u conect to the ps store or watever-- this sucks im umable to connect my go to my n900 hey try entering *99# if ur using tmobile and see if u can get online with ur go and n900 paired

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

Sorry, ever since I got my N900, my PSP-Go has been collecting dust lol. But I'ma bring it to work tomorrow and see what I can manage with my N900. I don't have 3G connectivity though...don't know if that affects anything.

And to Chase15:
The PSP-Go is in my opinion the number one portable game system, mainly thanks to its 16gb hard drive, add a 32gb memory card, and that is a whole lot of games with you. No Maemo games and/or emulators could EVER compare to a PSP game, so me too, I don't mind at all buying and filling up my storage with very good games such as Final Fantasy and God Of War. But unlike the PSP-3000, the PSP-Go is unhackable (for now) so impossible to download "free games" and custom firmwares.

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

@isaac - ok thanks for that... and btw, i have those two games =] do u know how to set up the connection via blue tooth?

IsaacDFP 2010-03-28 07:26

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

Well I'm pretty sure that is what he was trying to accomplish all along lol. Like I said, I'll give in my support from work tomorrow. I'ma bring both my N900 and PSP-Go and try to get them both online.

chase15 2010-03-28 07:28

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

@isaac - ow ok.. and 1 more thing.. do you know why the psp go can't detect my wireless connection in our house.. it detects my neighbors wifi connection.. but here in our house.. i cant see it on the list..

IsaacDFP 2010-03-28 07:33

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

It depends what kind of WiFi setup you are using... We are faaar from a Sony/PSP forum here lol, but of the top of my mind, i think the PSP-Go cannot detect WPA...i think... Or it could be you're using a hidden SSID?

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

ok time to bring this thread back to life! lol, I need internet on my psp to connect to psn and all i have is my N900...so anybody figure out how to make it work?? My psp has my N900 paired as a DUN, and I can obtain my dial-up number from bluetooth modem, i leave blank both authentication setting and initialization command (don't know what that is btw...). When I test connection, I am able to go pass "Connecting to Bluetooth Modem", but it seems to fail at "Optaining IP address". I get a connection error has occured: 80411908. So... help? :S

Re: Psp Go and the N900 Connectivity

I managed to find this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN7jESkjLE8
So it is possible...but I see the PSP-Go is supposed to ask the device for approval, which is not the case with the N900... i'm going to try with my gf's Xperia X10 to see if there a difference using a "known" OS...
