What field do you work in?

What field do you work in?

On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being expert user), how would you rate your level of skill on Maemo 5?

I don't work in a field. I find it much easier to work in an office.

Offices are great because they keep you dry when it rains and I find access to electricity extremely helpful because I program computers for a living.

I would probably consider myself 4 out of 5 as my skill level for Maemo 5.

I'm also a level 16 Paladin in Neverwinter Nights and wear a "Robe of Protection" which reduces my AC to -5.

Re: What field do you work in?

generally, i'm going to work in the software-developing field in a few month.
my skill-level on the n900 should be around 2.5 because i dont have much experience with linux.

additionally, i'm a level 93 assassin and level 92 barb in diablo 2.

/edit: now that i think about it, i havent logged on my bnet-acc for ages... damn, i hope my characters havent been deleted

Re: What field do you work in?

I'm a Red Hat systems administrator and off again on again Cisco admin.

Of course this is just what I do to pass the time until I find a proper field to work in.

I'm hoping for wheat, but I'll settle for corn. Just praying to god I don't get soybean....

Additionally, I'm a lieutenant level 7 in Star Trek: Online.

Re: What field do you work in?

I work in lower field - the one with the drainage problem.

I once stunned a Doberman from 50 yards with a direct hit between the eyes from my N900. So yeah, on a 1-5 scale, I'm at awesome.

Re: What field do you work in?

IT field: Web development, Linux sysadmin, VoIP sysadmin, DB admin

I'd give myself a 4 in Maemo skill level. I think to get a 5 you have to be writing your own apps and compiling your own kernels like Nathan and smoku etc :D

Skill with Maemo 5: perhaps 3.5/5

I work as a pre-sales consultant for high-end servers which run Linux Red Hat, trying to break the barriers against Linux for Mission Critical Workloads... A few year ago I worked supporting Unix/Linux and Oracle systems

Skills on Maemo would be just around 2 considering I just have time for installing some programs and customizing some config files, but using tips from this community.

I also practice the martial art Aikido, being a sencond grade black belt.

can I say skill level 1 (since I developed some PyQT apps in the Zaurus days). Oh sorry you asked Maemo - 0 in that case. :-)

maemo skill level: 0. Really like the N900, and greatly appreciate when folks write for the noob (or close to noob) level and make easy-to-install applications that don't require inserting code.

You're not kidding! Brocades are giving us all sorts of grief at work. Support guys just can't seem to configure them.
