Can i increase n900s ram!
 

hi guys,

firstly, the n900 is an insane work of art. . it feels like carryin a pc in my pocket!!!

i don wanna sound like a critic,

but after puttin a load of apps my phones started laggin a lot lately. .

many times the browser hangs on just loadin 2 pages and ofcourse downloadin like 5 items!!

is this because i have many follders and files for music and pics?

does overloading the internal memory with many small files cause the phone to slow down?

is there anyway to increase the speed of the device?

or supe up the ram???

has nyone been faceing continously slow multitaskin speeds?

for eg. try using the activate phone mode on rotate option . . i.e usin the acellerendo meter!!! . . when i try this after installing like uptp 600 mb of apps this feature works wit zero response!

wit the game packages i am currently using uptp 1gb app memory! the phone is still very responsive but comparitively slow. .

any suggestions on hw to keep the phone runing wit zero lag?

i ve flashed my phone too . . but it slows down again!

any views on this topic??

why doesnt the title say can i increase ram not wow look ive found a way to increase the ram come and have a look in this thread to find out how u can do it too???

Seriously man. I don't have any issues with the content of thread, but wording the title the way you did will really anger people. If your english skills are poor, that's one thing, but it's a whole 'nother thing to mislead people with the title. I think you should've made a title similar 'can I increase n900 ram?'

yes, correct the title.....we all know that you cannot increase your root memory!

and one more thing, if you want your phone to be quick don`t overload it with apps (and especially apps that are not tested!)

I think you might be low on rootfs space.

The HealthCheck app is a good one to find out if I'm right.

I used to keep my device turned on as long as possible, but have soon realised that it needs a proper turn off every 4/5 days minimum.
(Just turn off, wait 30 secs, turn back on)

It just needs to chill every now and again. works fine after that for me :D

Could be an "I-D-10t" error. Lots of those with the N900, it seems.

Wow, can't imagine anyone needing more RAM :D I think your real problem might be using apps that are still in testing or dev and take huge amounts of memory because they're not optimised yet.

i tried it with a 2gb micro sd. .

the phone shows zero lag now !!!

its like i upgraded the ram of my pc. . .

plz bak up ur micro sd data before u try this stunt in xterm

Nope... In healthcheck bootcount is a value given

When you do a full reset it goes back to 0 - every soft reboot adds 3-6 , and there are some other equations...


0-15 ok....
15-25 Do a turn off - on
27 - 32 - should be very laggy!
32+ really bad!
