Well,

I was looking at the mental torture by everyone over PR 1.2! When is it, where is what, what is it? A billion threads over the same topic! Darn!

So, in the spirit of sad sarcasm (at myself, before anyone else), and before 1.2 is even out (since someone will do this, for real though):

Hey! Does anyone know where is PR 1.3?! Does it have Ovi Maps 3? Does it Have Portrait Mode? I really want Portrait Mode! Is it tomorrow? When will it come out!

Sigh...


(PS: I am not laughing at people of course, I am laughing at "us" for how tortured we are waiting for 1.2 - believe me, I check 12 times a day for it - so I am included in my own sarcasm, at the absolute top of the list :))) It's a lighthearted spoof of the torture Nokia is putting us through, and a "few" unrealistic demands though)

It will play HD films up to 1080p and even 3D ones at full resolution.
All the social networks will be integrated (much like Sense UI from HTC).
It'll sync calendar with Google and your own SyncML Server (they'll provide one that's open source).
Pr1.3 major achievement will be it's open sourceness.. EVERYTHING will be open (only the GSM module can't be totally open).
It'll fix GPS fix without network.

Full PIM suite and Full Office suite (OpenOffice adapted to small screen) either as viewer but also able to edit files on the go.

It'll be resolution independent and Qt will be fully supported.
Full portrait mode, updated Kernel (2.6.34) and of course much snappier than now.

It'll be released 3 months after PR1.2.

since you started the thread with sarcasm let me continue with one - if it doesn't bring full potrait mode, or OVI Maps 3 or flash 10 or gets delayed, I'll sell my N900 and buy an IPhone instead :(

Yeah, there is a brainstorm for this, marked as 'being implemented'. With QT + DSP it is quite straightforward, as any rotation is essentially 'free' from a computation perspective.

So the way it will work is use the accelerometer to work out which way is "down" and then orientate the displayed applicaitions so that they are always up-down no matter what rotation you have the phone.

So rotate 45 degrees and you'll get your diagonal mode.

This will look quite amusing as the onscreen display will always try and remain vertical as you spin your phone around. I think the plan is to include a bit of kinetics so that it "settles" to an up-down position with some swing, to really give the impression that gravity is orienting the onscreen display - which it is in a sense.

Now everyone knows that PR 1.3 is going to enable the N900 to run the new OS that is the result of a joint venture of Nokia, Intel, Nvidia and AMD called WeeGo and it will be annonced tomorrow as WeeGo insane waiting for PR 1.2............

WeeGos okay but AndrOo in pr1.6 is so much better nokia handed the keys to Google since they don't know what there doing. to make this an QT android and meego build full cross platform app support awesome thanks nokia and Google

No, not the official version of WeeGo, but it will get the WeeGo HE (hackers edition). Which is identical aside from be unsupported.

I have heard WeeGo will not be available for the n920, which will be MeeGo only.

I don't know why Nokia would do this - if they released for the n920 straight away, they would get an instant userbase.

I sometime feel they don't fully expect WeeGo to succeed, or they don't want it to overshadow S^3.2 too much.

some say that PR 1.3 or Weego has a maps extension or separate app that successfully locates the G spot...

however, i am pleased to confirm that PR 1.3 will have Amphibian/Submarine Mode, allowing to use the phone under water for those situations when ur swimming or diving and you need to text or go online.

Still, Weego will be awesome. I hope we don't have any AndroOo fans here!

After updating to pr 1.3 n900's processor will run in 1ghz and it will unlock the hidden 256 mb ram making total 512 mb.

Guys, I'm having problems logging into Hatebook and Shitter ever since I updated Meego to version 3.1 this morning. Did anyone else notice that?

Also, the telepathic accelerometer has problems reading Diagonal Mode. It only gives me Portrait and Landscape, but Diagonal has to be manually chosen.

Anyone else experience that?
