and hopefully Adobe can get this x86 version wrapped up so they can turn their attention to porting Flash onto these great new Android smartphones like the Nexus One and EVO 4G.
Nope, it's designed for x86 processors

Wha? I thought there would be a FP10 for ARM as well. What am I missing?

Presumably they'll recompile it for ARM, too, and we will see it in an update for the N900.

There is, though nobody knows if it's in Adobe or Nokia's hands right now (rumor is Adobe has released Flash 10 for the N900 to Nokia).

PR 1.2 perhaps?

It's not in the change log so I don't know. But then again application updates are generally not included in the changelog. So it depends if Flash 10 is considered part of the OS or a seperate application.

it's just the release candidate. so it's not the official 10.1 but very close to it.

Had a play today w/ a HTC Desire running Flash 10.1, so fingers crossed Adobe is getting the ball rolling and we won't be waiting too much longer...

Re: Adobe Flash 10.1 for Linux released. Can the N900 use it?

Guys, I contacted Adobe regarding Flash 10.1 support for the Nokia N900. The good news is that they confirmed Flash 10.1 is already ready and they have handed over the source code to Nokia.

However, now Nokia needs to give some attention to Maemo5 project & release Flash 10.1 with a new firmware for Nokia N900.

Hence, please guys keep sending mails & requests to Nokia to release Flash 10.1 which will boost the life of Nokia N900 as N900 could be used for a few more years.

Do we have a suggested place to send an email for such requests? For those that don't have the time, patience or sanity left to try to navigate around Nokia's website?

I have! noflashn900@nokia.com or deadplatform@nokia.com , sorry but i had to write like this :(

The problem is that lack of flash 10.1 for N900 is a business decision which was made I assume by the time MeeGo was announced and Maemo 5 sentenced to death. Nobody can force you not to write to them but you will waste your time hitting the wall. Again , they only way that we might have Flash 10.1 is when MeeGo is released and thanks to our community ported to N900

Try your luck here

MeeGo will get Flash 10.1; no doubt about that.

But it's about Flash 10.1 on the N900/Maemo. And the Flash Player being released on x86 Linux isn't the same as the ARM version. It might get backported by some individual to Maemo; but who knows at this moment.

Although there might be license issues.

I've stated in the past that more than likely that the MeeGo Community Edition will invariably not come with the Adobe Flash player plugin due to licensing... just like OS2007HE and OS2008HE. Instead of support, got sorta "ran out of town" and ignored for the most part.

I agree... licensing will be a problem. But to be honest, folks shared their flashplayer.so files here before without incident... and without support. I assume the same will happen again.
