any chance to make the background semi-trasparent?
 

hey guys. i was wondering if we can make the applications background semi-trasparent like the menu. later i will post an example... because i'm on my n900 and not from my pc.
I hope to be understood... lolz

If I'm understanding you correctly then yes it is possible, simply by changing out all the current icons with a different filetype that supports transparency (like *.png (24) or *.gif). That is, if the device supports those filetypes as image files.....

Not the icons man. I'm talking about the app.
You open it and the background is transparent and under there's the desktop-background image , like in the menu.

It's not really transparent. I it simply uses the current desktop's background image and do some nice effects on it. If it would really be transparent you'd be able to see the icons and widgets too.

do you want semi transparent to view through the desktop and into the machine :D

someone requested x-ray pictures of n800 yesterday
and there is already x-rays of n900

would be cool to fake up and see the circuit board behind ;)

I think that being able to see widgets&friends will be confusionally!

A pretty good idea. you could just have the xrays as your background, and voila! Transparent desktop!

Pierlux, no transparencies in the image you posted so not quite sure what you're getting at :?

Updated image. More bigger.
Look at the menu. The background is "trasparent" and you can see the desktop wallpaper. I wanna have the same for the applications.
Ex. I open "conversations" , it will be like in my image.

Ah ok I see what you're getting at.... That might require some serious coding - by all means correct me if I'm wrong, but because there isn't transparency there already then the desktop wallpaper would be disabled, allowing the application background to take over....

Alternatively, replacing the image with the same image as behind the menu screen (ie; the blurred desktop background) would have the same effect. However, this would only be a single image fix rather than a transparency effect.

I don't think that the phone works on transparency because to smooth the desktop transistions you remove the blur applied to the main desktop background - meaning it's not a transparency, its an applied effect.

Not knowing enough about the set up I can't really comment tbh.... Sorry
