Influence of the used Theme for Speed and Touch responsibility?

Hi togehter while waiting for the PR 1.2 like anybody does and watching the amazing Meego Screenshots i played around with my n900 again since a long time i was take a look into the repos. There was a new Theme called Array i used the Reflect Theme before with customized Background (overgoing picture for the desk).

So i did download and choose the Array Theme and wow what happend the Hildon on my N9 was much more faster when i pressed a button to start a program it did come up faster and so one.

I thought okay stay cool maybe you just have the feeling it is like that and did install the old Reflect Theme again. And here we go my old Problems where back. The Touch Screen seems to have a bad response all was getting slower.

My Question is did anybody in the Forum have the same Impressions? How is it possible that the Theme can have such a influence for Speed and Touch Responsebility? Is the Array Theme based at another graphic lib? Is the Backround Wallpaper maybe the Problem (Array have a simple black not overgoing). Maybe somebody could tell me more about this Stuff.

best regards Crown

I think its because of the quality of the image. Lets say one theme uses 100% quality and the other 60%. You probably wont see the difference but it wil be easier on the cpu.

My feeling was that the Matrix theme I tried out for a while was slower than the stock built-in themes so I have gone back to using those.

Hi, author of both themes here. Reflect is based on older Theme Maker medhod while Array uses a more modern hildon-theme-tools approach. That might explain the differences.

''hi together'' isn't really correct, is it?

what other themes have been made this way?

I have tried only the two default themes, but I feel like the default default theme (the bloue one) is faster than the digital nature theme (orange). Although I like the orange better (I browse these forums all the time on my N900, so it matches the maemo theme nicely), I have now permanently switched to the default blue theme, it makes the N900 UI a much more pleasant experience.

Do you folks experience the same?

Dou you know of a theme that is optimized for UI speed?
