Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
I have the phone since saturday, installed the extra-decoders support along with the newest Maemo (3.2010.02-8). And I get the same message when installing this Subtitles thing. My movieplayback in some movies is stuttering (other issue i know, but maybe related).
EDIT: Movieplayback was NOT related: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=39010 |

Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
Sorry that i can't help you directly, subtitle support used to work for me earlier.
However, as a workaround you can use kmplayer or sib, with mplayer, that has subtitle support out of the box. -sc |
Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
in sib and kmplayer I tried all the Hebrew encodings but i get Scribble letters
So I want to test sub support package.... i found the gstramer installion in extra web page http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...antle/install/ but i get packge not found erorr masege.... help? |
Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
when using kmplayer the subtitles do work but the player itself is worse imo, mplayer works better. ie: the thumbs and the resume playback

Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
Right so I browsed the web some more and today found a solution. I have to say that the subtitle quality is better in KMplayer then it is in the standard media player. But here is what I did:
What you have to do is install this file on your N900. First place it in the root-folder of your N900 and make sure you have Rootsh installed to gain rootacces. Then install the .deb file via X-terminal. If you do not know how to do this, there is a guide here and I have added some screenshots below. After you have installed it, go to settings and at the bottom at "Extra's" you have the option "Subtitles". Open it and click "Automatically load subtitle files". And you're done. Make sure the videofile is named the same as the subtitle file. Except for the subtitle file having the file-extension sub or srt. http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/116/50798950.png http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/5986/29847658.png http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5397/67842621.png http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/3282/14694915.png http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4453/11272646.png Good luck and let me know what you think. (I am ofcourse not responsible for the possible bricking of your phone, just telling you how I did it.) |

Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
I have a big problem with Subtitle support since P 1.1 , and not solved in PR 1.2
the problem is when i start the application from setting, closing immediately with message " internal error , application setting closed". Uninstalling and again installing not solve the problem , even after PR 1.2 |
Re: gstreamer misssing for subtitle support
Ok, I have reinstalled and it's working now :)
Thanks! |
