Re: moved root and messed up phone

apparently flashing with phoenix doesnt erase personal data (including texts, phonebook, call logs), only system files.
so it can be called hard reset lol...

Is this the case with everyone who uses that script? I've been debating moving my root and kinda wanna know if I'll cause any problems for myself. Was this a fluke or does everyone experience the same problems as a result of moving their root?

Why move your root? The suggestions for freeing rootfs in the Wiki weren't enough?

Also, isn't moving your root a recipe for slowing down your N900 by putting essential files in slower memory?

I was debating over whether that would be a good way to clear space for the next system update. I would move it before the update and move it back afterwards but I'm unsure whetehr its safe despite the fact that HERE it says its safe

not like something I would do just for the hell of it or do permanently

Let us know if you try and succeed. There is always some risk regardless, but good luck!

Reflashing user flasher will also keep those (unless you reflash the eMMC)
