Easy Debian img help?
i downloaded the image file (http://qole.org/files//debian-m5-v3b.img.ext2.lzma) and extracted it and put it in MyDocs
when i open easy debian installed it goes straight to downloading the image file, what did i do wrong? |
Re: easy debian img help
Have a look for the filename in the config-file at ~/.chroot, lzma is compressed. try uncompressing...
|
Re: easy debian img help
i decompressed it and moved it to MyDocs
now i habe 2 files one is 283 MB .lzma another one 2GB .ext2 both on MyDocs |
Re: easy debian img help
Should work now? Have a look at the configfile, esspecially path and filesystemtype!
|
Re: easy debian img help
u mean /home/user/.chroot ?
i just renamed the img file for the same name in the config file ill double check |
Re: easy debian img help
You have the possibility to choose ext2 or ext3 and some more options i guess as filesystem for the image (or even partition which is much faster). Yes, config file is located in /home/user/.chroot where you have to define path / filename and fs-type of the image / partition.
Btw, i'm using the Mer0.17testing11 image on a 5GB-partition at internal eMMC: Netbeans, Kile, Gimp, Inkscape, Abiword, Gnumeric and Dia are running well... |
Re: easy debian img help

It sounds to me like all you've tried to run is the installer. Do not run the installer again, you have already installed the image file. Try running "Debian LXDE", and if that doesn't work, try running the red swirl called "Debian chroot" and post a screenshot. |
Re: Easy Debian img help?
i ran Debian LXDE abd it worked thanks they shud modify this page http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian its confusing

Re: Easy Debian img help?
All I did (last night): Download the tiny easy debian scripts from AppMan: Let it do it's business: Click blue button to download - click on MMC and let it do it's business. I switched the screen off and watch King of Queens for an hour. Came back - DONE! LXDE glory!
Maybe the automated system on N900 is the easiest and best way. It is all automated. You click 'OK' 3 times and select MyDocs or MMC once. |
