Nokia N800 Case
 

I, like the rest of you N800 users have been searching for a proper case to carry around (not just store) my fragile N800.

Well, after alot of trial and error (most recommended cases were too big) I found my case. If you are intrested in purchasing the case, or want more info, I will be selling the case as i am planning on importing it in from a china manufacturer. If intrested email me and i will post pictures and details. I plan on importing around 500 and selling on ebay. Let me know who is intrested. I will post more details and pix tommorow along with a url link to ebay next week as i solidify my import status of the cases.

don't know why you didn't just try one of the Nintendo DS Lite cases.. 5-10 bucks and the n800 fits great.. it even fell out of my pocket once onto a carpeted floor (from chest hight) and was fine.

I did, and it is not a real option. The case i found is a flip case w/ belt clip that is a real case, not a short term option until a real case comes out (like the ds option and the HD case mentioned in other threads). This case looks as though it was made for the n800 like a cell phone flip case w/ magnetic enclosure for easy access. the ds case is a ds case and not an option for me.

I want a aluminum hardcase with snap lid. Most protection with least space required.
The soft cases is often too big for keeping it in, lets say, an inner pocket of a suit.

I will go there tomorrow. I called and asked if they were in yet. They sales dude, said yup, so hopefully they will be there. If so you will get a pic, but in the mean time you can see it on the Nokia website.

First off i can gaurantee i make more money than the schmuck who commented on the quick buck, so making a quick buck is not needed, but i will be compensated for my time.. If you are adverse to others making money, then why purchase retail goods? I am sure Nokia and every other company is selling a product for the good of the tablet community (ever wonder what the markup was on your beloved Tablet?). But enough with the coy (?) attitude, I am a user as you all are and finally found a viable case for my N800. If selling it after the trouble of supplying it, at a profit makes me a bad person, oh freakin' well. I will post pix when i get home from work (I got the case last night and was excited to share) tonight.

If your intrested, great. I'll be selling them for 14.99 US, if not the DS case looks really great(?) too at $4.99.

drdoom - let's look at this logically: you're a brand new poster on this forum (joined today no less!) with no track record of postings (how long have you been an Internet Tablet fan?) offering to sell people a product for which you seem reticent (that's: unwilling or unable) to post details and pictures.

Rather than recognise the unfavourable position you're in and post a conciliatory response to your doubters, you flame them. Real smart businessman aren't you?

Any wonder people are suspicious? You're so close to being flagged as spam...

You may be legit, and if so I wish you the best of luck with your venture but I don't think I could advise anyone to send you cash (do you prefer Western Union by any chance?)

I did contact Krusell inquring if they could provide a case for the N800.
They did reply, "At the moment we don't have a custom made case for that unit"; so maybe one is comming.

I am glad that someone took the initiative to supply cases for the nokia n800. And I am glad that he posted on the forum so that I know about it. I don't see any problem.

drdoom16 sounds genuine to me. He has done the homework because he knows about the alternative cases mentioned on this forum. He will make a profit? Completely natural, we all have to make money to feed our family...

You think? I do not see a problem with a guy supplying a demand and making a buck, but hey this is the "Internet Tablet Talk Forums", a whole new ball game. If his cases are cool, I may pick one up as well.

In the interim I will cut out a piece of hard plastic and position it on the screen side of the soft case that came with the N800 to provide a minimum bit of protection. Hey, I just gave an idea. Can I charge for that?

sapporobaby, why is the Internet Tablet Talk Forum not the right place for talking about an Internet Tablet case? Should drdoom16 advertise it in Horse and Hound? :D

I for one am glad that the goods come to me on this forum and I don't have to hunt for it.

I've had enough of seeing the Nokia case on the website and not able to buy it. I am in a dispute with Nokia anyway who don't want to replace the cracked case on the 770 (!) so I am inclined to buy from elsewhere.

the thing I don't understand about the official Nokia case for the N800 is that it is not, IMO, a case! I just looks like a flap the fastens on the back (somehow) and folds down over the screen. There is no protection or covering for the sides at all.

Actually, I was hoping you all would just send your ATm cards with the PIN #. You are correct in your assessment of my junior status, and i bow to your seniorness. But, really I do not look to inflame anyone, I am posting a finding of a case that I feel would benefit others. I posted to get some feedback to see if others would be intrested, I know I have looked on this site since the N800 release for possible cases that aren't too big or too flimsy , and have until now had no luck. But hay, I'm just a junior member so what the hell would I know. So, I'll just keep my case to my selfish self.

If I were to sell it, It would be through ebay and paypal would be the only payment accepted and only to confirmed addresses. i am way to suspicious of people and want to cover my you know what.

Anyway, spam away.........

Still no picture of the case? By the way, this is what I'm currently using (from Case Logic):

Case Logic PLT-2

It fits quite well, with mounting braces that holds the N800 in place. The brace that holds the top side of the device is a bit tight (due to that side being thicker), but apart from that it's quite ideal.

Man, I don't get that response at ALL.

Anyway, I vote no more flaming, bickering, hypersensitivity or whining and we all act like mature adults, ie:

1. Docdoom drops the vaporous propaganda in favor of posting HARD data that helps us make an informed decision;
2. No one criticizes a guy for the fact that he's offering a possibly welcome service to people who are definitely interested

I think the guy made a feeler to see if anyone was interested. Blam!!!!! He gets insulted by someone. Why insult someone that is apparently trying to do a favor? Who knows? Maybe they were not loved enough or are of the snobbish sort. Then the dude defends himself, only to be talked down to. So it would seem that the rules are: take getting offended and don't defend yourself and you will be fine. Great policy.

Anyway, another one bites the dust. Pretty soon only the elitist few will be left.

I'd love this to be legit and hope it is, and it may well be for all I know.

However I will just say that anyone offering to sell something on this spam ridden forum with their first post on the day they join has to be treated sceptically, and when they are called out as such an insult laden response is not the smartest way to defend your business proposition.

I promise I've got nothing more to say on the matter as I'm unlikely to buy a case (being in the UK for a start!) but hope and trust the case is a good 'un. If anyone was offended I apologise but understand I meant it in the best possible taste.

Thanks to you I just bought one off eBay. It looks way better than the DS one.

PS: I am still buying the REAL Nokia N800 Case for smaller trips away from home but this one will be great protection for longer trips... plus I can put my spare battery and pen in it. Thank you for the info.

You are an expert in blame dispersal. It was your comments and that of the other guy that offended and ran him off. Not mine. Time for you to take a look at how you come off to people. Anyway, the best thing you said is that this thread is tanking. I am done with it. If he comes back, and I would not hold my breath, he should just approach people via PM and avoid certain individuals.

The Case Logic PLT-2 seems to be very interesting ( provided that one has an N800 ). Since I do not have the N800 it does not matter much to me. But as long as the function / feature of the N800 IT going onto standby when covered is not enabled, I do not think I will get it anyways.
They are still available in the nearby ' ex CompUSA ' ( 4 available yesterday, at $ 279 apiece ). So I will take it cool. ;)
