The past week when i delete a movie it deletes. but when i close the player and reopen it. it shows up agen but you cannot play the file as it says "unable to find media file" cos i have deleted it. but why will it not delete in the list (video - Categories) i have tryed renaming(then i open the player it shows the old file name and new file name) the files, i have tryed delete files from PC and from the phone. but nothing seems to make a diffrence. can anyone help. |
Re: Cant delete movies from play list...
try to delete them from the terminal:
cd Directory_in_which_are_the_files rm film1.avi for example use ls to list the files in the respective directory Note that the terminal is case-sensitive. |

OP, if you are using Mediabox. -- log in to xterminal -- cd /home/user/.mediabox/playlists Here you will see all your playlists. Remove the playlist which you want to remove. Or if you have deleted only few songs from the, you can delete the song entry from that playlist. Remove these two lines for each of your file. #EXTINF:-1,YOUR SONG file:///home/user/MyDocs/.sounds/YOUR SONG.mp3 |

Re: Cant delete movies from play list...
Not clear from your posts what you did ?
So is your playlist issue resolved ? Did you go to that folder and removed the playlist ? |
Re: Cant delete movies from play list...
i have deleted the movie files. but they still show up in the list. and cant seem to get ride of them even tho the file is no longer there. and it is movies i am haveing the problem with.
still having this problem |
Re: Cant delete movies from play list...
are you talking about mediabox here ?
Its the same thing. They are also in /home/user/.mediabox/playlists directory. eg. my movie name is "20100501_001" -- cd /home/user/.mediabox/playlists -- grep 20100501_001 * it shows Playlist.m3u:#EXTINF:-1,20100501_001 Playlist.m3u:file:///home/user/MyDocs/DCIM/20100501_001.mp4 So you have to delete these two entries from Playlist.m3u |

you might have a problem with your trackerd (the tool watching after your files to generate this list) you may get it fixed by plugging it into your computer and go for masstorage use wait for it to settle and disconnect again. if this does not help you need to reset the tracker by typing Code:
tracker-processes --hard-reset after this trackerd is not running but will start after you launch the mediaplayer, it will take quiet some time to track your files again. (mine took about 30 minutes) I do not know how to reset just the media files instead, maybe s/o else does |
