Can we sort the posts in a thread based on the no. of thanks?
 

Well with maemo 5 being more mainstream there has been a huge influx of members, threads and posts. As i do not have the time to go through 1000's of pages of each thread....Is it possible to sort the posts of each thread so that the they are arranged with posts having maximum number of thanks to minimum number?

In the recent past, I see that LOT of threads that actually needs to be in Off-Topic being elsewhere.

The main idea of "Thanks" is being mis-utilized.
Jokes, Fights, Satires, Rumors, etc are being a thanked a lot these days. Really useful posts are sometimes getting lost.

Strict moderation would be required but I know that's already a tough job. Any other suggestions wlecome...

@jukey: you mean as a periodical digest? or based on a certain threshold (if a post gains more than x number of thanks)?

If you mean the RSS function I would say it should be on a daily base and should show the 100 most thanked posts (Sort order should be the time). Maybe 50 also Is enough... This would help to see the most popular posts of the last 24h very quick in RSS readers.

Works very well. But a Thread releated search would be also very nice. :)
Open a thread, click on the sort by thanks button and show up the posts ordered by "thanks" and "time" instead of only "time".

But what's more important since several months would be a "no thanks" button. You can call it "mark as spam", "chat message post" or "unrelated to the discussion".

Simple a Button to vote for unhelpful "are we there, yet?" posts.

It would be a blessing to hide all posts with more than (at example) 5 "SPAM" votes. (still viewable, but hidden by default - marked as space between the other posts and with the text "unrelated unhelpful post - marked by 12 members - click to read"

We could use the same threshold as at the personal messages. Only members with a certain number of "not as unhelpful" marked posts can mark posts as unhelpfu.
