How to change the default calendar view?

Hi,

I use the calendar widget a lot as a shortcut to the calendar itself and was wondering if it's possible to change the default view the calendar opens to. Currently it's set to "Agenda" and I would like to change it to "Week".

Using the widget always tends to default to Agenda view(even on the leaked 1.2). Though if you launched it from the apps menu, it would default to the last mode used. For e.g. if you used month view last and exited the calendar app, the next time it start in that same view.

Hope this helps.

Is there a config file somewhere for the calendar widget?

It is a bold relpy but if what has been said is true you could simply add a shortcut to the calendar very close to the widget.

Not an answer, but there's a workaround: add DateToday Home Desktop Widget on your desktop and lay it partly on top of the calendar widget. When you tap the DateToday widget, it opens the calendar application. Use widget's settings to change the default calendar view (month, week, agenda).

Hope this helps...

@peikonen

That would be a good idea, but currently my desktop is full and I don't have the room above the calendar widget :)

I use the calendar widget a lot and switch to month view each time the app opens. Two clicks too many.

Would also like to know if this can be done.

You can resize the widget to match calendar widget's "date".

Man my #1 gripe with the N900 since day 1, finally somewhat solved.

Why would I prefer to default to the Agenda view?? :SS

Same here, I have no use for such a view. :)

But I still would like to change the setting for the widget itself, if anyone has any ideas, please share :)

Does any one know how to change that default calendar view from the widget?

I always use the month view...

there is a widget in extras/testing (I think) called "calendar home widget".
This widget has the same appearance as the default but has some extra settings like opening in month view.

hope this helps.
