In the next image(thanks to battery eye) you can see when the phone was powered on or powered off, I never turned off the phone so the the lines in the graphic should be continous.

The green line is battery level in percentage between 0%-100% and the blue is miliVolts used at that moment

Thanks for your time.

Re: N900 turns off Randomly

There is an app called "Desktop command execution widget". Install it and get the widget on the screen to display the boot reason.

Re: N900 turns off Randomly

This command in X Terminal provides the bootreason after it happens:
cat /proc/bootreason
No need for some desktop widget.

If he has already flashed both emmc and fw what has he installed since the new flash? if the answer is nothing then you have a hardware fault i would think, maybe check the power button is not sticking.

did you try to unlock it? (simlock)

if yes you probably killed the superdongle key....

also check your battery.... open the back cover and try to push the battery up down left and right.... if it turn off when your push it around you must bend the contacts (<- is that the right word) together....

After thinking that the worst might be happening with my n900, ~phoenix~ opened my eyes to see a more simple problem, MY BATTERY WAS MOVING , this was the cause of my phone turns off randomly.

It was not too obvious find the problem, beacuse removing the back cover and move the battery did not turn off the phone; but the last time my phone passed out was sliding the screen up when it reached the superior limit ( when a little click takes place ); that make me think that was probably the battery .

I bent these two support points of the battery ( see next picture ) and problem solved

And that would be a design problem ,thanks to all for your replies.

best regards

One more tip, to be completely sure that your phone will not turn off:

- bend these 3 battery contacts too, (mines were to loose for using a universal charger)

Re: N900 turns off Randomly

Just be careful with that - some time ago, I was using external charger extensively, and fixing those pins a lot. After some time, one of them fall apart... I ended up replacing whole PCB - when I did dual-scud 3000 mAh battery, I got one spare pcb with pins, so I repaired my original Nokia battery with it.
