BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
I am trying to install BlueMeamo but the installation ends with libeina0 package conflict.
I have tried: apt-get autoremove libeina0 apt-get clean apt-get update (nothing to update) apt-get upgrade (nothing to upgrade) apt-get install bluemaemo (E: broken packages) Is there any way to solve this? I have just installed PR1.2 but I experienced this problem with PR1.1.1 as well. |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
I am running into the same problem as well with PR1.2.
Any solution to installing BlueMaemo? |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
I'm now having this same problem. I had Blue Maemo installed before PR1.2 but now I get the libeina0 error. I had this same problem when trying to install Enna on PR1.1.1 and never did get it working. Tried the same things as the OP.

Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
Any thoughts to get BlueMaemo installed with PR1.2?

Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
got the same problem with canola here
looks like no one can help as ive googled the problem all day i know that my girlfriends iphone never has these problems! |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
Uhm.. Silly thought. Maybe try removing and reinstalling it? Maybe BlueMaemo needs libeina0? Have you tried reinstalling that library? I've got 2 packages that apt-get tells me I should clean, but I know from past experience (on other platforms) that allowing apt-get to autoremove things can break stuff with incomplete dependencies (like devel software).
I'd go back and look at what was auto-removed and re-add things it took away until it starts working again. FWIW: BlueMaemo is working just fine on my PR1.2 device... Quote:

Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
After installing new version of the OS (PR1.3) the problem re-appeared again.
When I try to install BlueMaemo it terminates with the same error. I believe others experiencing this issue have installed Enna in that past and that may be the common denominator, although I am not sure what the implication of this is. Maybe someone with more knowledge can help. Is there any solution to this issue? |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
I have never installed Enna (what is it?) but after PR1.3 bluemaemo is not working anymore: it starts and connects, but if I try to send some command (mouse or keyboard strokes) it disconnects.

Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
Hi guys, well before I posted my problem here I did read all that you have written here and tried it but in my case it did not solve my problem. I still canīt install bluemaemo because a problem with libeina0 so I did what you said:
Enter X terminal. type: sudo gainroot apt-get install libeet1=1.2.2+svn41533-maemo1 then I get following message: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it? /home/user # Thanks in advance and best regards to you all, M |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
This happens if you have another application manager running, or more likely, HAM is checking for updates in the background, and that taaaakes reaaaallyyyy its tiiiiime...

thanks for your replay. I went to App manager then to Application catalogues and turned them all off and then tried again sudo gainroot apt-get install libeet1=1.2.2+svn41533-maemo1 so now I didnīt get the same message as before, instead this came up: Couldnīt find package libeet1 what now? Thanks |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
Sorry for being to quiet HAM is often used for the Hildon Application Manager, the built-in application manager. It is quite a slow application, if you have a couple of repositories enabled, like extras-testing and extras-devel.
Faster Application Manager (FAM) is what it says, faster. Edit: Post some logs please from the HAM protocols if you have some errors during update or upgrade, to get some help here. |

thanks for trying to help me. This is what I did next: I went to App manager then to Application catalogues and turned them all off and then tried again sudo gainroot apt-get install libeet1=1.2.2+svn41533-maemo1 Reading package lists...Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...Done E: Couldnīt find package libeet1 /home/user # what now? Thanks |
Re: BlueMaemo problem (libeina0 dependency issue)
If you turn off all catalogues in HAM it is a global so then when you try to install from the command line of course it will say not found because there are no repositorties to search in.
