Problems after update PR 1.2
 

Hello guys!

Yesterday I updated with PR 1.2 my N900 ,but also did very stupid thing - insatlled Enhanced Linux Kernel. After this my N900 start to work slower and I tried to uninstall the Linux Kernel - at first from "Deinstall ....kernel" shortcut, but there ais no responce and I uninstalled it from App Manager.
After all this my N900 rebooted and start to reboot again and again.

I reflashed again with PR 1.2, but with no luck - same restarts.

Then I reflashed with PR 1.1.1, but there is no SIM card response - found a theme in the forum with the solution and managed to solve it.

Now I am stuck with PR 1.1.1 and can not update with PR 1.2.

Please give me advice - how can I update to PR 1.2?
I am using flasher and Linux live CD.

Try Global or UK PR 1.1.1 to get SIM working, then try update to PR 1.2 using app manager.

I am using Global, but SIM do not work.
Do you advice me to try with UK version?

do you able to get update to PR 1.2 for now using app manager?

Edit : and do you remember whats release of PR 1.1.1 was working with you before this issue?

No, I am using flasher-3.5.
Till now did not saw PR1.2 in my app manager.

i don't know if the PR 1.2 is available in app manager for global or not yet, but its available for UK release.

so just re-flash with UK then try upgrade to 1.2 directly from app manager.

i made some search about this issue with Enhanced Linux Kernel reboots

if after upgrade to PR 1.2 using app manager the issue still there and not resolved, you need to remove the Enhanced Linux Kernel files from internal memory, so to do that .. go back again to PR 1.1.1 then using xterminal as root

to get root access use rootsh app from extra-devel, then from xterminal and write this commands ..

sudo gainroot
rm /etc/default/kernel-power
rm /etc/default/kernel-boot
ln -sf /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/ideal /etc/default/kernel-power
ln -sf /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/boot /etc/default/kernel-boot

Now its should clean, just try to re-flash with PR 1.2 again, and its will work.

Thanks, but I do not have such directories - enered with terminal, but it said - no such directory.

I will try to flash first eMMC and then the device.
I did it this night, but maybe was sleepy and did a mistake. I will post after my try.

just flash full emmc (newest) then flash to global PR 1.2.
just do a FULL clean (emmc then firmware).

upgrading with enhanced kernel is described here

If you reflash with PR1.2 the enhanced kernel is completely removed.
so this must be another problem.

hey guys
I realy like my n900, but when i did the last 1.2 update, my phone is not working. it is just a brick. it is reseting all the time.
one time it was written that image is bad. i dont know what to do. did i lost all my pictures?

please help
