fMMS and PR 1.2

After being a happy bunny with fMMS working, after the upgrade to PR 1.2 yesterday I can't get fMMS to work. Using the settings that worked before it stals either sending or receiving.
Any clues?
(I'm on O2 in the UK)

i sent mms with fmms today, and friend of mine received a pile of ascii garbage... anyone?

Re: fMMS and PR 1.2

EDIT: Seems like the problem fixed itself - maybe my provider was sick yesterday.

I have always used the 'havoc' setting. After upgrade to 1.2 I can only send/receice MMS if the phones is on wifi and not using its own data connection.

Best regards,
Lasse

After adding the MMS apn, n900 always is trying to connect to the Internet first with this apn than with the normal Internet one. Before, I had the possibility to have the internet apn working and when I was with wi-fi connection it switched to wi-fi.

How can I set up the phone not to work with MMS apn?

Perhaps if you delete original data connection and add new one through fAPN and then make it go through this new connection from setting.

I dont have this problems because i have make my phone first to ask what connection i want to use

Don't quote me on it, but the phone uses the first setting always (for me). So, delete both, add the Internet, connect to it, then add the second one.

I also have issue with O2 and fmms.
However I had the issue after the fmms upgrade to version 1.0.x
Before then it worked (mostly)
I don't think it's PR1.2 that has broken it, however ... maybe some of the libs were needed with fmms1.0.0 so possibly related?
I have removed fAPN (and not reinstalled since PR1.2 clean flash) as I believe it is not required anymore.

fmms needs to be updated to version 1.0.3 it can be updated by adding the extras devel repository. It now works fine for me on O2 UK.

I'm on Vodafone UK as well. What settings are you using? Are they the same ones as in the installation wiki for fMMS?

Why is there no straight forward fix for this?? Mine stopped working too after pr1.2 update and no one has a straight forward answer?

How do i clear the app cache?

fMMS has never really worked for me, although i have successfully received about 3 mms' out of the many many that i have received and sent about 2, but i dont know why these ones worked (all this was prior to PR 1.2!)

I am on vodafone UK, running PR 1.2 and using fmms version 1.1.9. I have contacted vodafone and they confirm mms is enabled on my account, so i got them to disable, and then re-enable it again to see if that would make a difference - it didnt :(

I have tried both these settings.....

Quote:

Vodafone UK

* Access Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk
* MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
* Username: wap
* Password: user
* HTTP Proxy: 212.183.137.12
* Port Number: 8799

OR

* Access Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk
* MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms/
* Username: wap
* Password: wap
* Proxy: 212.183.137.12
* Port number: 9201
Neither of these work, nor can i find any that do. When trying to send i get either "Operation failed, timed out" or "Operation failed, unable to contact operator" (or something like that).

Ive attached the logs for when trying to receive a mms using each of the settings above, they are distinguished by the port number.

Any help on this would be massively appreciated, cheers.
