OGG Support at N800
Ive recently purchased a N800 and its really wierd that this open source device can play RealAudio and WMA but not ogg...
So im wondering can you play OGG at the N800? |
Re: OGG Support at N800
mplayer will play ogg files; not a clean solution, but better then nothing. ogg while an open standard is not a widely used standard yet unlike the others you mention.

Re: OGG Support at N800
Since the N800's media players are mainly based upon gstreamer porting the gstreamer ogg plugin should be the only thing we need.

Re: OGG Support at N800
I have installed osso-xterm already.
When im starting oggplay from the menu it just says "loading oggplay" for about 5 seconds then nothing happens. When i start it from the terminal i get this message: Nokia-N800-51:/# oggplay oggplay: error while loading shared libraries: libXau.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |

What does ls -l libXau* give you? Mine looks like this: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Mar 15 07:29 libXau.so.0 -> libXau.so.0.0.0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7132 May 26 2006 libXau.so.0.0.0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Dec 20 05:23 libXau.so.6 -> libXau.so.6.0.0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8536 Aug 2 2006 libXau.so.6.0.0 /usr/lib $ file libXau.so.0 R. == |
Re: OGG Support at N800
This is what i got:
Nokia-N800-51:/usr/lib# ls -l libXau* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Dec 20 12:23 libXau.so.6 -> libXau.so.6.0.0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8536 Aug 2 2006 libXau.so.6.0.0 |
Re: OGG Support at N800
Enable red pill mode in the application manager, then you will be able to install the libXau package.
