OVI Store Update Late
 

OVI Store is up.

Says you need to update N900 to access but it failed the update process saying all the catalogues are unavailable. Heres the failed process:

Tap update.

It says 'Operation in progress'

Then it says 'Application list partially refreshed. Some catalogues unavailable. Check catalogue details.' with a details button to the side.

Click the details button and i get the following list:
Nokia Applications
Nokia System Software Updates
Ovi
maemo.org
Maemo Extras
Maemo Extras-Devel

I thought it may have been the fact I had custom set Hideuseragent but i still had the same problem once i'd reset that.

HELP!!!!

Have tried turning the phone on and off several times and i still have the same problem - I can't do an update!!!!!

Delete this thread problem solved.

My connection was set to MMS instead of my Vodafone GPRS once i realised and changed it back my problem vanished.

Now just waiting same as everyone else!

The funny thing was that I got a very fancy mail from Nokia that the new Ovi store is available and everything. Clicking the link I get to that old Beta site. It's ok if they still got things to do, but maybe they could wait with sending out announcements until its there.

If you are talking about the couple of days old mail, that was for the new S60 OVI store.

Ovi store not working here (from device).
From desktop it's fine - shows the same old apps.

I was PROMISED ZenBound and Angry Birds levels.
I DEMAND them.
I have a credit card. Take my money for ****s sake.

I had a text from nokia saying the update was available but when i went to get it, it weren't there!

Wouldn't have been for the PR1.2 I don't think as the My Nokia feature that activated these texts came in the PR1.2 update!

Then again, it is nokia we're talking about...

Well, I reckon were looking at it being released on the next hour!

Well I got it today, and it was about "Ovi Store is New & Improved", the 1.6 version of it. It stated that for S40 and S60 apps you'd need the new Ovi Store software that enables you... blahblah. Didn't say that this new improved Ovi store 1.6 was NOT intended for the N900.

Probably you're right that this mail wasn't for the N900, but it wasn't very clear on that in any way.

It was refering to pr 1.2,

ohh uhh i guess this thread turns out to a new epic wait thread with drunken blah blah meets chuck norris who isnt afraid of an iphonezilla which eats beards. oki sorry for that :D... here in germany still no ovi upgrade and besides, i got that stpid sms too cause i owned a n97 before, where i registered myself at nokia with it.

If you click on your OVI store it states there that an update is required first.

Personally, my ovi store is identical to how it was before, doesn't ask me for anything just loads the bog standard ovi beta store.

No. He's right. There was a problem whereby it was released and people got it for free. Red faces all around. It was then removed.
