Hi guys... days ago, i made a thread with "please add specifics to the apps", now, i'm here again to say what doesnt work after this horrible pr 1.2 update! it needs to resolve some bugs, it adds much more horrible effects!!! i'm mad bout it, please NOKIAAA BE SERIUS!!!

appdownloader DOESNT WORK!!! -- crash after you open it
callnotify DOESNT WORK!!! -- bug shows icons with no sms
cpufrequi DOESNT WORK!!! -- crash after you open it
d1x-rebirth DOESNT WORK!!! -- crash after you open it
espeakcaller DOESNT WORK!!! -- crash after you open it
ganyremote DOESNT WORK!!! -- missed depends
gnome-nettoolsDOESNT WORK!!! -- doesnt install
gpe-filemanagerDOESNT WORK!!! -- bad icons on the gui
gps recorderDOESNT WORK!!! -- crash after you open it
maemo-recorderDOESNT WORK!!! -- crash after rec
mbarcodeDOESNT WORK!!! -- slow and imperfect
zbarDOESNT WORK!!! -- missed link

and much more... i dont want to write for a day!

i have a n900... i dont want to sale it ok? please correct all the packages, there are too much blogs that are talking bad bout your n900!!! thanks

most software need to be rebuilt with the new SDK to make it work with PR1.2.
this may be one of the reasons why they crash. Try and reach the developers of the apps , Im sure they will be able to provide you with some reasons for the failure.
My guess is it would be alright when the apps are rebuilt with PR1.2 SDK and uploaded, so its just a short wait till it stands corrected.

I haven't tested any others but CPUfreqUI and Mbarcode work just as they did on Pr1.1.

Possibly something wrong with your device?

I've used cpufrequi several times since updating. It did work.

i dont care bout it... they had too much time in the wait for the new pr, they had the pr 1.2 sdk, the have to be serius with us... its impossible that for all the updates u'll get errors or incompatible problems... i dont care, i payd and i want to have a good device. nokiaaaa wake up and make it good, try to use a stadard for the apps or find a solution!!! all the people is laughting bout our devices!!! the shame!!!

no... i have the global release... i reflashed 3 times!!! it doesnt work with the pr 1.2... i repeat i have the global release

Do you have -any- understanding about how things work in open source, or in this community?

Did you flash the eMMC? Old settings files may cause strange behavior in new revisions of software. Try finding and deleting them first.

Did you flash the eMMC? Old settings files may cause strange behavior in new revisions of software. Try finding and deleting them first.
i payd my phone... i payd sygic... and what i like to pay.... i know hot to reflash i'm not a totally noob!!!
flasher-3.5 -F emmc.bin -f then i take out the battery and i plugin again to reflash the firmware image.... and id like to add... this happens to all the italian people... googlize it before to talk... thanks

But you know Nokia didn't make those apps. You should probably contact the developers

No, the device works fine. And for many people, the software you list works fine. If you're seeing a bug, go find the project page and file a bug. Sitting here and yelling about it means -nothing-.

I'm inclined to mark this up to "PEBCAK" but since I can't see your N900, I can't say for sure.

Nokia provided an updated SDK for PR 1.2. It is the developer's responsibility to make sure his applications are compatible

if u like i can add a dpkg lisk bout what i have installed... ;( all the italian people get this errors....

then is it a python error? icant upgrade libqt, is upgraded... python? some suggestions bout it?

But various people have pointed out that they are using some of the applications you list without any problems. Perhaps you have discovered some conflicts but you need to report the problems to the developers of the apps - that's how they get fixed.

First, they're still working for most other people after the update. So the problem's on your end, and oddly enough, with all your whinging and hollering, you don't make anybody feel like helping you understand and fix it.

Second -- if you insist on blaming the update -- just flash back to PR1.1.x! Really, we won't stop you. (Not that this will necessarily fix things for you, since as I said, the update's not to blame.)

Finally, please do sell it. No N900 deserves to be stuck in an abusive relationship with someone like you.

While I am chuckling mightily at your banter, I completely agree.

There must be a problem with the OP's phone, but I think it stems from all the crying that they have done over their N900. The tears have made programs unstable.

These are the type of people that shouldn't even own a computer, because all they would do is whine that their big blue E icon no longer does anything.

I didn't even flash the eMMC on mine, and haven't had a single problem. It runs a hell of a lot faster than pre-PR1.2. I just need to learn Python now and start contributing back to the community....

pissing and moaning when stuff goes wrong and it's always someone else's fault.

don't let the door hit your arse on the way out mate.

while there's a number of players in the 'hood who have had difficulties upgrading, and a number of people with application issues after, it's by far, not the majority of users.

rather than typing out abusive posts (in 2 languages) on a COMMUNITY forum, quielty package up your N900, advertise it on fleabay and just leave.

or.....

do what others have suggested and once actually verifying that the problem is not something YOU have caused, get in touch with the developers so they can fix any potential bugs.
