Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

I think it would be a wiser choice to have this in portrait mode, but othetwise awesome work, but how many fps (yet)?

ivgalvez 2010-05-28 06:04

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

Well I don't think portrait mode is the best solution as you'll need the keyboard to play.

I remember to see some screenshots with a Nintendo DS emulation partially working (but can`t find that thread now) where both screens where put in landscape mode one besides the other, that seems a good approach.

Smoku, take a look at this thread:

You can take the bounty...

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

the bottom screen is touch (like ds) and the above works with keyboard?

boxkillor 2010-05-28 08:12

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

nice smoku it looks indeed promising. what chances do it have to run stable without gfx plugin at a descent fps? hehe i even imagine some wifi support, mann that would be great ^^

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

28 fps!? Sweeeet

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

An option for Portrait would be nice if you use a bluetooth joystick?
(e.g. wii remote)

EDIT: Well Done on the port - now what about a download link??

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

this was allready made by another user. and pretty fast too. but for some reason it was pulled out of the repositories. i asked a couple of times where it went without any concrete answer.

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

i herd nintendo pulled it along with snes emulators. but the snes emulator seems to be bak.

Wow... cant wait!! Whats the speed like with the standard 600Mhz clock? Also, what version is it?

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

I have found a .deb file like that in the forum one day. It was quite slow, but the screens could be easily adjusted to portrait and you could remove all the toolbars (The one with file, emulation, etc, The one at the bottom saying running and the one with the play/pause button.) and the screens where big enough. Only problem was that you had to restart it to make these show up again... I am so happy though that you decided to make it happen (you cant imagine my face while i looked at the active topics and saw DeSmuME)!!! Thanks in advance :D

please please download link?????

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

Maybe two two screens can be fitted side by side in landscape mode for biggest possible size instead of stacked?

mthmob 2010-05-28 10:22

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

As mentioned above..

How about putting the 2 screens side by side instead?

That would give full keyboard access and biggest scaleable viewports possible.

That's on a PC (a weak one, but nevertheless). Don't stick to much to the number. :)

256x384 fits on 800x480 screen ;)

DaSilva 2010-05-28 10:46

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

Yeah, but you would have less black borders and could zoom the screen if possible to fill as much space as possible.

smoku 2010-05-28 10:55

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

side-by-side with 2x zoom gives 1024x384 which does not fit on 800x480 screen.

kingoddball 2010-05-28 10:58

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

Use main screen with larger size and lower screen can be smaller.

Main: two thirds of screen
Lower: one third.

Secondary screen is not used a great deal anyhow.

boxkillor 2010-05-28 10:59

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

on the old ds thread here in forums, someone posted an image which showed it fullscreen side by side. but i guess this means a great loss of performance too right?

kingoddball 2010-05-28 11:01

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

Not with over clocking ;)

smoku 2010-05-28 11:15

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

scaling by fractions is terribly slow and looks ugly

boxkillor 2010-05-28 11:15

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

yaeh that would be great, okay could someone tell me how realistic the chances are to get wifi support and camera support like the dsi has. i know the emulator hasnt been released at all, but i'm only asking after the possibilitys :D

Re: DeSmuME Maemo Edition

Can you do a quick and dirty ARMEL build and I'm sure all of us here will be happy to help test.

Or at least, one day :)
When you do, could you post a link?

I would like to grab a build from you and I will help test as much as I can.
