i wish i hadn't update to pr1.2...seriously pr1.1.1 was way better and didn't have any bugs ..i thought i'd update to pr1.2 and see what's new with the new firmware but i got **********-e-d ...transitions sucks in pr1.2 and maps???? r u kidding me? it was better in pr1.1.1 ...what did they **********-ing improve?? the put a play button in media player? wow big improvement...changed the virtual keyboard? wow big improvement..video call??? yea well i don't use video call and u gotta have internet to use it so it's worthless..portrait mode in web browser well people got used to web browsing in landscape mode..and can anyone tell me what's the use of using web browsing in portrait mode if it didn't have a **********ing virtual keyboard..it's **********ing useless..customizable menu??? r u kidding me??? who want to customize their menu ..it looks ugly now all the applications put together with no "more"...and night mode in video and picture? yea well it sucks

in general we waited 3 months for a useless update...i wanna get back to pr1.1.1...PR1.2 is pissing me offffffff!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

GPS actually works better than it ever has with the 1.2 u/d so you need to be more specific about your rants, please refrain yourself and try to at least come across in a civil way and i am positive 100% people will help and guide you on this very forum.

recaller doesn't work properly in pr1.2..it's pissing me off..some of the applications that worked in pr1.1.1 doesn't work in pr1.2

jeah ppl i dont understand why everyone here is such trolling.common guys you cant really seriously say that pr1.2 isnt useless.jes many of you guys are lucky but many guys are really ****ed up with this crappy update.i loved my n900 no seriously it was my best phone ever.it hads everyrhink but now i have thousand bugs.no IM mediaplayer crashing all the time my battery is toally screwd(5 hours)no app working,my cpu is crazy,have always running 3 tasks without doing somethink.my phone is so laggy that i dont want to put it out of my pocket.i flashed fiasco and mmc 2 times have no devel apps.common guys nokia had so much time for this update and it bring nothing neccesary.the new features are stupid many many users have probs with it(1 bug report a hour says everythink)so dont be blind in love to nokia they have us ****ed up!!!and whats with ovi store flash 10 or meego?i had love my phone but now i hate it.next week i start searching for another one.so done flame users that arent blind and see what kind of stupid dealer nokia is

No doubt any problem can be frustraiting. Can only say the device on the whole has performed well on all fronts here. Some small wants wishes and the inevitable hiccups but nothing beyond what friends with other makes & models encounter.

Contact the developers. The new Nokia SDK for PR 1.2 has been out for a while now. Application issues are not PR 1.2's fault.

The developers might be occupied by real life since most are hobbyists. Check in devel if there is an update, however.

All developers have had to make changes due to exactly that Nosa so let's give them some time because they do indeed work free and give a hell of a lot to this community !!!. (not directed at you)

What i would strongly suggest to Nokia is to give out the full source code of PR1.2 with the obvious encrypted drivers in place so that we could all have a damm good go making a proper update lol instead of waiting for damm Nokia to get their fingers out.

since flashing to 1.2 my gps on ovi maps is out by about 600 meters! Its doing my head in. why o why did i update to 1.2?

Seriously, I am very happy with PR 1.2 and I don't need PR 1.3 - as it most likely won't add what I really miss - a decent and good working calendar application. Therefore I am rather waiting for something like this appearing on Ovi.

i want recaller to work....it used to give me a message saying recaller stopped recording but now telling me recaller terminated ...it's not working ..i tried everything..and the transitions used to be more smooth before..and openning the apps were much faster

I for one am glad that there is a place you can vent OP. My response is simple. I don't think it's so much PR 1.2 as it is with the various issues with the apps.

My response to those that just can't undrstand that sometimes people just have to vent and it's their right even though their writing style may be a bit, uh "unconventional". Keep those posts coming !

yes i modified my transitions ..i am using transition control..did the same exact thing in previous firmware but in the new one when i click on call going from landscape mode to portrait is not smooth anymore

Then that is why. Upgrading reverts to stock transitions. From what I understand, the transition control app hasn't been upgraded to support pr 1.2. So your best bet is to do it manually. Look here for instructions

Are you saying that we all could put your heads together and produce PR 1.3 ? Thus clearing Nokia of any future criticisms ? Yeah, count me in, Nokia get what they want and can go and concentrate on Meego, and we get an awesome firmware that will only inprove and grow.

Apart from being a willing Alpha tester (GULP !), there's not much more I could contribute I'm afraid.

however the OP does highlight how ignorant end users will always blame the product manufacturer in the first instance instead of the the 3rd party app developers (no *****ing here, because I, for one, am eternally grateful for the time and effort - mostly unpaid - that these guys and girls put in for luddites like me) who don't get around to updating their apps for new fw releases.

Having said this, it would be fair to assume that once an application reaches extras, it should be guaranteed stable for use with current fw....or removed from the repos until it is.
