Screen glitches on incomming call with PR1.2
 

Ever since i updated to PR1.2 when i get a call the incomming call screen shows but when i click te answer button the screen glitches for a second or 2 and then the incomming call screen shows again and then i have to click answer again.... this is really annoying and i hope it can be fixed..

Same problem here. Weird after taking their own sweet time testing PR 1.2, Nokia comes up with such bugs.
Anyhows, it is now very obvious that N900 is just an experiment and a tool to push the Maemo community.
I just feel cheated that they advertised it is a Nokia commercial device.
Commercial devices by a brand like Nokia should not have such issues.

Same issue here. I also have had people call me, reply after just one ring, then they are not there. When I call them back I have been told that it was ringing 6-7 times and they were put through to voicemail...

When I get stuff like this it usually has to do with SIP numbers and cell numbers ringing at the same time.

sometimes when I get a call it wont show whos calling untill i open the keyboard any ideas whats wrong with that?

Hello mates,

The only way right now to bypass this glitch is to do following:

1. Go to Phone.
2. Select Phone word.
3. Go to Turning control.
4. Choose from Display orientation -> Landscape.
5. Make sure that Launch by turning is off.

In this case evreything works fine.

But the only downside is that Phone aplication is going to be fully in Landscape mode.

I guess they trying to move us completly to Landscape view )

Anyways thats the only solution right now.

If anybody got better idea share it with us.

You can always changed it to perminant Verticle view too. You don't have to get stuck with Lanscape view.. Clikc on the lanscape to change to portrait.

It makes glitch in that case. (2 second freez)

It's all good as long as it's not portrait.

there is also a screen glitch when sending a new message in conversations when you press send the entire conversation disappears for a second and then reappears with the newly sent message at the bottom its really annoying

So we have probable bug here or actually two if it´s on conversations and on phone app. People who can reproduce this could you please vote conversations bug here:

The screen glitch has made me miss a couple of calls.
Never happened before.

When I get calls they switch to portrait when i pick up the phone fine. My problem is that when I press accept call the screen changes so the accept/reject buttons are side by side, then after a second it switches back to the buttons being on top of eachother and I can hit accept. It would be super annoying except I don't use the phone much.

Exactly the same issue with me.... should we flash to some regional firmware from the current global one? or back to leaked PR 1.2?

actually in PR1.1, this problem already there but not that obvious. and that was caused by switching the automatic rotation on.. thats y i change back to portrait mode as PR1.1 doesnt have landscape mode.

No, all is normal here.
The only "glitch" I noticed, which happened once was that I had to press the Answer button a few times before it actually did anything.
The same happens when I want to end a call, but this problem happened more then once.
So, it definitely feels more sluggish now.

To all of you who say you don't got the bug.

Cover the proximity sensor (the right of the speaker and left of the smaller camera), recieve a call to the phone, then uncover the proximity sensor.

When i do so, the only mode that doesn't glitch is the landscape mode. Automatic and portrait mode makes a glitch.

Same crap here! Re-flashed by Global a few times and tried cleaning the phone ....no luck. Sucks!

I can confirm that I have this issue.

For me, I can take the phone out of my pocket (in portrait orientation) and the phone flips quickly to landscape then back to portrait. The UI takes a second to rotate back to portrait-- THEN I can answer a call. A few times while the screen was flipping I have accidentally hit reject, so now I just remember to wait for the rotation-storm to quiet down.

A fix for this would be nice-- as this seems to be my only major bug with PR1.2 as of yet.
This issue wasn't present in PR1.1.1 on my device, either.

At least this isn't a showstopper bug, just a minor annoyance...

I started seeing this once I installed transition controls and drove everything down to zero. Not remember seeing it before doing that , but I kept the stock Pr1.2 settings as it is for just one day before re-installing transition controls.. Since I didnt care much about the glitch I never took it off.. Does the posters here also use transition control app

When i receive a call my screen glich few times then the green buton splits in 2 green butons then all came back to normal and i can answer...

Same problem here too, have missed some incoming calls due that. Switching Phone app to portrate mode without turning control, it's more convinient than landscape one which misses opportunity to select contact by first letter...

Having the same issues I tried searching bugzilla about such problem and I haven't found one. Have anybody posted it there? If not - we should file a bug report and then it can be resolved for next version firmware.

there is also a glitch on my n900 after PR 1.2

the annoying part of this glitch besides i have to press the screen twice to answer a phonecall but also frequently i accidentally press the reject with sms button because during the glitch (which happen after i press the screen on the first try to answer phonecall) the screen shrinks and distorts in a ways that the reject with sms button position is located on the answer button before i touch the screen to answer phonecall

i hope somebody understand what i'm trying to say here.. :)

Decided to throw my $.02 in here. There are some bugs after updating to PR1.2: on incoming call, the screen magically shuts down, and you'll have to wait another second so that it can light up and answer. And guess what? Sometimes it actually rejects the call! Several friends of mine keep on asking why do I hang up when they call me.

Another bug on incoming call is kinda hard to explain... at first it shows the buttons, picture etc as it should, but then it... simply "minimizes." It doesn't go into landscape, but the buttons and (probably) the phone app itself goes to the bottom of the screen, and a second after that, it reverts to it's "maximize" status.

I am only using stable apps from maemo and ovi so no linux kernel for power users etc.

That's exactly what we're discussing here. It really is annoying and sucks to have such a fricking "update" from Nokia! (sometimes I think those guys are on crack)
By reading the stack I seem to notice that some DO NOT HAVE IT....strange, huh? Could you tell us (those lucky ones) what localization of the PR 1.2 you have???

Same EXACT problem here, very hard to answer calls (regular celluar calls) now with PR 1.2. Hitting the Answer calls goes into a SMS message.

I'll try landscape mode and see if that helps... lame.

Makes me wonder what kind of QA process is actually happening on releases?

The most F'**D up part is that you can't downgrade back to prior firmware because Nokia modified the cell firmware. !!!!
