Sygic mobile maps 10, although n900 isn't supported
 

Dear customers,

Mobile Maps 10 is now available for Symbian, Android and Windows Mobile smartphones.

We prepared a FREE update for you to Mobile Maps 10. The update also includes refreshed maps, free of charge.

This update is not compatible with Nokia n900 / maemo.


So, it seems to be that Sygic is leaving us alone too:mad:

I emailed them last week asking and was just told it's being worked on and will be coming. I really wish they'd give us some kind of expectation. But in reality, it's not like they have competition on this platform.

Well, quite.
They have done right by us so far. We know it is coming. I don't feel hostility towards these guys (unlike Ovi!).

They have already said they are working on version 10 for Maemo in the Sygic thread, Why jump to conclusions without doing some basic research. Developers like Sygic need, and not support moaning rumours!

Sygic Mobile Maps 10 is coming soon for maemo as a free upgrade for Sygic Mobile Maps 9 customers.
I'm testing it right now. It's very slick.
I will do a video later.

As per the above post, and if you had bothered to do even a basic search, you would find that v10 is comming and will be a free upgrade for v9 users.

Serrioulsy folks if you want to ***** about developers have a go at Nokia and Ovi. Why pick on a small player who is supporting the N900.

zehjotkah is testing MM 10 for Maemo and is going to make a video soon.

there will be no more maps for sygic 9 than today. but there will be new maps for sygic 10.

@Zehjotkah: Will the maps in Sygic 10 be from TeleAtlas or again NavTeq?

EDIT: To clarify - I just won't buy NT maps, I have Ovi Maps already. And TeleAtlas coverage for my country is significantly better.

zehjotkah: Is it possible to search for road names without knowing the postalcode or the cityname in MM10? Can't do it in MM9 and it's a bit annoying at times..

This is a good question... also, I have trouble with Indiana, USA map... nothing is there for it. Will updating to the MM10 solve this problem? By the way, I am not the only one with this issue...

@zehjotkah: from where did you get mobile maps 10 for testing? Did Version 10 speak out the street names like other navigation Software do this?

The voices are the same as before. Some names are spoken (like B2 or A1 here in germany) but not the normal streetnames.

iphone already got the new Sygic Aura. N900 is still on the waiting of Sygic 10. We are 2 steps behind the great apple.

Glad its coming, really like mobile maps, works very well, my main complaint though is the POI's, it lacks so many, or in the UK at least

tbh the update looks good from what i've seen from zehjotkhas youtube video of it however version 9 is is still perfect use and im glad its available for the n900 as it means more time for me to keep it :)

I want to buy it (yes I know how to use google, I still want to buy it), but I would prefer version 10.

Does any one know (maybe some people form sygic)
- can we expect v10 before end of August
- when v10 is released is upgrade form v9 will be for free (I assume it's same like for other platforms)?
