evopedia PR1.2 broken
 

Dear All
thus far evopedia has been my killer application on the N900 with both the english and german version installed.
As of PR1.2 it seems that it becomes close to impossible to enter the search string: you may be able to enter the first character, the search starts, sometimes evopedia will accept after long push on the button accept another character but usually not. In short, evopedia is useless in its current state.

Any idea?

Strange. Over here evopedia works fine on PR1.2. I cannot reproduce your problem, but note that I have only a german dump installed.

I've been having similar problems but haven't had enough time to properly look into it yet.

When I try and enter a search string key presses are occasionally ignored or misinterpreted as another character. Sometimes it even changes some of the already entered text to something else.

In addition I've had it refuse to shut down using the link in the top right a couple of times. Shutting the browser window does the trick though.

I'm also using the English dump, but I'm not convinced that the dump used should be causing these issues. Hopefully I'll have some time to properly play with it over the weekend.

Hope we can get it sorted as it is an amazing little app when it works.

Edit: Sorry, the following information is outdated. I am on evopedia 0.3.2-maemo3 from extras-testing.


Which version are you using? Extras-devel? There seem to be problems with that version: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=104

I am using the one from extras-testing without suffering from these issues.

same problem here in germany...with both versions of evopedia (0.29 or so and the 0.32)....so i heard from the developer hes working on the problem....we have to wait...

fine, then he seems to be aware of the problem.
Lets hope he finds the problem soon.

alas nothing new concerning the problem here?! no update coming? I know it will be hard work for the developer....

i would like to hear him working on the problem.... hopefully successfully

and impress everyone with two wikipedia dumps.
