For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
1 Attachment(s)
Found this old Motorola in my parents house... Helps to keep your perspective about evolution of technology...
Just a quick Comparison Motorola International 3200 VS Nokia N900 Battery Life 1 Week - Battery Life 2 Days (No even touching it...) Powerfull defense weapon - N900 won´t hurt that much Fall proof (will leave marks on the floor but will keep working) - N900, yet to fall... (hope not) Works your Bycipe everytime you answer a call - Can´t workout with the N900 Antenna unclogs toilets, drains and picks your nose - Stylus is much smaller, If you have a big nose or deep drains, forget it... Cool Factor (chicks love it) - N900 won´t get the same attention Still works after 18 years - Good built quality, but 18 years?!?!? No MMS on Both ... :D No Motorola app Store - Ovi App store Rubish No Flash 10.1 on both (For now... Motorola will launch first...) Did this for fun, I Love My N900, best Phone/Computer/PDA/Media Center/RemoteControl/SNES Emulator ever! |
Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
Wow, I am sorry you had to go to such extreme measures to make the n900 win.

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
I wonder if you tried taking the 3200 on a plane if they would confiscate it as a concealed weapon, tie a shoestring to the antenna and you could take out 10-20 zombies!

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
hahahahahaha....i remember seeing one of these way back in mid 90's. they were awesome...

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
LOL! Again n900 is mostly computer maybe you should have compared these 2 then?
http://static.seekingalpha.com/wp-co...ldcomputer.jpg :D just joking!! OK serious... Speaking of bulkiness this should do it http://gadgetized.net/wp-content/upl...10/N900_12.jpg Proof n95 is the most thick of them all compared to 5800 and iphone so I guess n900's size wouldn't hurt thinking n95's bulkiness was openly accepted by it's users. :p Quote:

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
pretty sad you have to go back 3 years technology(n95) to justify n900 excess thickness. lets see what we get for this thickness
awesome battery life - nope, even though they could have fit a larger battery in the housing if they removed stylus holder awesome keyboard - nope, better than droid, barely better than n97 and way below e71 i wouldnt mind the thickness if at least there was some technical advantage to it |
Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
The n900 is 19.55 mm thickness also.
It is a tonne heavier than the n95 also (61g more) with its standard battery. |
Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
You forgot to mention dedicated hardware keys for the calculator (MR and M+)
Another win for the Moto... |
Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
Didn't think anyone would hold so old hardware chunks.
By the way apcoelho, where did you get your wallpaper from? Looks quite good to me. |

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
If you're complaining about the bulk of the N900... you seriously shouldn't carry anything heavier and thicker than a notepad and a pen.
I fear that most people in society have become way too weak... complaints about 5 pound (2.2kg) laptops and the sort. Pfft. |

The n900 weight (181g) and size (19.55mm) is a rather poor trade off for a rather small screen size. The 5", 5 Mpx cam, with probable USB Host, 9.9 mm Dell streak (above) is the true successor design imo to the original internet tablets despite its 220g. Available to buy for £399 from its release day (~£200 cheaper than the n900): here. |

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
Nice thread, i found the phone quite heavy at first as i was used to a really slim phone, however i love it now, it has really grown on me. Just remember this is not a phone with gadgetry, its a pocket powerhouse you can make calls with. I didn't get it to look cool i got it to tinker with and glad i did ^^

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
N900 heavy? How about Nokia Talkman. In a self defence situation, I wouldn't want to be the other guy! :)http://www.nokiamuseum.com/images/Mobira%20Talkman.jpg

Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
We had this in our house:
http://www.cntr.salford.ac.uk/comms/...nicebg350s.jpg 1997. Battery standby = 1.3 hours talk. Weight = 225g. Dimensions = 156 x 47 x 35 mm. I used to rack up huge phone bills as a kid listening to the time and dialing stupid things. |

Besides, I find the N900 a lot more comfortable to hold than my old N95-8GB. |

About the size ... I came from Sony Ericsson P990i (I regret much...), then Nokia E90 (brilliant but unsupported inner screen) and then N900, as you can see i´m used to big phones and the N900 is pretty slick to me. |
Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
I use a Noreve leather case for my N900. Im pretty happy with it but it adds about an extra 50% thickness. One benefit of this is that the phone seems very slim out of the case.
I guess thats like someone stamping on your toe to relieve a headache though. |
Re: For the ones who say the N900 is too bulky...
The N900 seems small compared to my old Treo 650...
