Syndicate Wars

Hiho!

Thats my first post, so hello @ all :).

I just found a port (open source) of Syndicate Wars.

Is it possible to port that to maemo?

Maybe you could give us a link to the port?

Syndicate Wars was never released for the Amiga (unfortunately, only thing that made me jealous of PC owning friends).

However I think the original poster may have been referring to FreeSynd which is an open source port of Syndicate not Syndicate Wars. I couldn't find any info on an open source Syndicate Wars port.

If you do wish to play Syndicate Wars then I'd imagine dosbox would probably do the job.

No way dude :) I was an owner of Amiga 500 15 years ago and I was playing Syndicate Wars. And this is only source I know this game :)

What's the title of the movie you linked to?

EDIT:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syndicate_Wars

Third game, so, not the same that was released for the Amiga 500.

My question was to make you think about what you said earlier...

Syndicate and Syndicate Wars are two different games.

Syndicate Wars only came out for Dos and Playstation. Though it's now listed for Playstation 3 and PSP, probably through emulating the Playstation 1.

Last I checked (admittedly a while ago) FreeSynd wasn't anywhere near playable. I'm installing it in Arch Linux now to see where it's at.

I love the game, but was pissed when I beat it! Anyhow, it is an awesome game and I've never beaten Syndicate Wars (though still have my original CD)

Re: Syndicate Wars

PS3 and PSP have it through some EA retro collection release. It's nowhere close to the PC implementation because they used some console version.

Don't count on this. It uses X86 assembly code which won't run on N900.

The authors of this remake, could follow what authors of OpenDune did, and decompile the assembly code back to C.
Even if still unreadable, it is possible to compile it for different architecture then. :)
