I paid 730$ for my n900. I'm so afraid I'll break it. I'm wonderin what people paid for there n900 without contract.

I paid £260 for mine a few weeks ago. A UK retailer called Carphone Warehouse is selling them as "Clearance“ which they define as reconditioned / refurbished.
I bought it online.
They are as new condition but are supplied without headphones and TV out cable.
Worth every penny!

The cheapest store in my country (Norway) had it for 628$. But I like to buy everything from the shop http://www.komplett.no It's quite a bit of money. But for comparison I work at a grocery store and get paid 21.29$ an hour. Not including all the extra's, for night work and weekend work. It's my part time job. I'm a computer science student. I used my vacation pay to buy this phone. I'm currently living at home so I have no expenses.

Oh well in that case. You have a very good pay. 21.29$ an hour at a grocery store is very good. So I guess things are more expensive there.

does it really matter what anyone paid for a n900 as long as they use it and get the enjoyment out of it as it's a great mobile even if the usb port does fall out lol can still repair it easy as hell.

Got mine for $470USD after cash back $50USD in October :P Preorder!
My USB still hard and tight as ever. Gone abit loose than the first time but it's still good.

Damn $21/hr in grocery store? that's a wow! I'm an IT person with a Computer Science degree only just got to $23/hr after 3years though.

But then of course, everything is too expensive in Norway. I's beyond all comprehension how you Norwegians can stand the prices.

Even so, the prices have dropped quite a bit. I bought mine in November last year for 6000 SEK in Nokia store. But I have no idea how much that was in USD at the time.
EDIT: Pixmania in Sweden has it for $600, including postage and packing.

I don't think the contents of the tea bags I buy cheaply at the local store sum up to what British folks would declare genuine Earl Grey. Tasty nontheless:)
