OS Maps on N900
Does anyone know if I can get OS maps onto my N900? I have a number of walks planned and would like to have my N900 as backup if I get lost. The walks will be off road so sat nav is useless. To some extent I maybe google maps will work, but I'm looking for something a bit more useful. Ideally I would like to use my N900 to record the routes, but I very much doubt that the battery will last that long!

May be Mappero (maemo-mapper) help you? I use Mappero with Topo Finland maps on my walk, bike and boat trips

Re: OS Maps on N900
i use ecoach, and b4 leaving my house i just scroll to the areas i am about to go, so that it caches the maps

Re: OS Maps on N900
UK OS maps are now free, has anyone looked at the format? It would certainly be good to get them working with Mappero.

However, you can sign up for the OpenSpaces API then you will get a key you can use to access them for your website. Probably it is not within the licence agreement but you could use these tiles in Mappero after applying some transform (from OSGB grid alignment to Lat/Long). I have seen this done using a proxy but it would be nicer to add OSGB support to Mappero natively. |
Re: OS Maps on N900
i thought OS meant OpenStreet maps, if that's not the case, not sure if ecoach supports whatever OS means

Re: OS Maps on N900
OS stands for 'Ordnance Survey'.
Did anyone ever find out how to do as the OP wanted - I'd like to use the OS maps on my N900 too ? GB. |
