Re: Possible google earth on N900
N900 can run Google Maps (not earth) via Garnet Palm emulator - its stable but the only problem is the GPS doesnt work so GOog maps loses alot of utility.

Re: Possible google earth on N900
NITdroid is able to run the native Google Maps application. Although Navigation doesn't work as of yet since the GPS module isn't working.

Re: Possible google earth on N900
Ehm, web browser has Google maps, and it works just like GE would (but less nimble). And it has zoom via double-click?

Re: Possible google earth on N900
Works very well for me on an OCed N900. Zoom functions fine.
As for google maps try the following addy. http://www.google.com/maps/m If you grab down the microb plugin for geolocation from extras it will even pick up your gps locale etc. Use mouse mode to drag around the map. |

Attached proof that maps has:
* loaded * working layers * scroll (starts over US) * zoom (from very high) I have successfully scrolled, zoomed, used layers, searched, you name it. MicroB rules. |
Re: Possible google earth on N900
Is there a way to zoom with the www.google.com/maps/m
version? The volume keys zoom the image, but when you zoom in a more detailed image is not fetched, so that zoom method is worthless. Update - One can zoom by entering mouse mode, and then double clicking. The sad thing is that opening this web site and interacting with it with the pseudo mouse is faster than firing up Ovi Maps. |
Re: Possible google earth on N900
* Slide pen from left.
* Touch the arrow icon so it stays there * Double-click with your now-enabled mouse. Alternately, stop using the /m version. It has quite a few limitations the full map doesn't. Among others, on-screen controls. |
