Can't visit the Ovi Store

Hi guys, I've posted a thread about this a long time ago. Hoped it would be solved by now, but even Nokia Care says they "are working on it", but still no changes.

When I tap 'Ovi' in the menu, I still get the "Ovistore coming soon"-message, and it says I have to update my N900 to the latest firmware version.

Already did! Have the latest firmware on it. Still no Ovi Store.

I was wondering if someone could help me with this, I'd be very greatful!

I used to be able to access the store, and just noticed that I'm now getting the same error message (ie, no ovi store is available for my device). Should I assume that this is some kind of server-side bug?

Yes, maybe it is! I tried to acces the Ovi Store manually, by just visiting ovi.com.

Said "device incompatible" - like it doesn't recognize the N900.

I'm probably completely wrong, but have you got Hide User Agent installed?

Haven't. Why? Could User Agent be blocking the link to the Ovi Store? (dumb question:p)

No, no User Agent issues, it's down here (Spain) too for days now.

Yes you can, but why lol?
I suppose you might as well and just check the user agent hasn't been customised somehow

Perhaps Angry Man downloads collapsed servers...

Maybe the ovi store is down or they're performing some type of maintenance. When they had just released the Zen Bound game on the Ovi store, I kept on getting the error that my device was unsupported (I'm in the US, no agent switcher). I waited until the next day and I was able to get on and buy the game.

That's definetely not how it's going here, I am having this problem for a month now. Contacted Nokia Care, Nokia Support. Nothing heard again, only "we're working on it" lol

Re: Can't visit the Ovi Store

It happens exactly the same to me here in Spain. Ever since they released the Zen Bound update I cannot access the Ovi Store. The only thing I haven't tryed is reflashing (again) my device.

¿Could it have something to do with the Custom Kernell?

Solved!

Installed Hide User Agent, and then pressed 'delete' in it, through settings. Can acces the Ovi Store again!

Ovi store is working for me (rather advanced user). my brother has a (nearly) vanilla pr1.2 n900 and CANT access it. says it gives him an "update your software" when calling it from the ovi icon from the menu. we double checked, its definitely updated to pr1.2. i'd understand if i couldnt access ovi store, too; yet i am able without problems, so i cant even troubleshoot.

any ideas?

I was in the exact situation as your brother is right now. This is how it worked for me:

I updated the firmware version to THE SAME version as I already had. So, in your brother's case, he has to update to P.R. 1.2 AGAIN. after that, my problem with Ovi was gone. Could be coincidence, could be the solution! :)

Re: Can't visit the Ovi Store

i won't tell him to reflash a basically new n900. why can't there be a simpler way to fix this? sometimes nokia really makes the n900 look awfully bad and unprofessional.

The more I know N900, the more disapointed I feel with Nokia!!!
