[Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Hi
Pomodoro has been promoted to testing, feel free to check it out and give thumbs up if you like it. Pomodoro is a task management application based on The Pomodoro Technique ideology by Francesco Cirillo. The idea of the application is to help users organize their daily tasks and easily keep track work progress. See Pomodoro Homepage for details and screenshots. |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
For those of us that have to account for our time down to the 15 minute increment, this is very handy. Great addition to the N900. Will be checking this out.

Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
For tasks that are hidden the next day: do we ever get to see them again to keep track of what we've done?
Some ideas for future features: A configurable break timer. The default could be five minutes - to make sure you're getting your break in between Pomodoros. If the media player is playing music the application doesn't play it's notice that the Pomodoro is complete. It might be a good idea to either overlay the sound on top of the music, or temporarily pause the music so that you know when you're done. Another option would be to add a vibrating alert. And possibly a configuration dialog to select between the sort of alert that you're given. If a task has a long title it's not really easy to see the full description either in the list or when you've clicked "start" on the Pomodoro itself. A way of view the full description might be useful, e.g. double click on it for a dialog? |

Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Very cool app! Other useful features would be:
- being able to rename a task after entered (e.g. if it contains a typo) - being able to type a description of the reason for an interruption (e.g. "boss" or "dad" or "girlfriend") - a desktop widget would be really cool too! |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
If you would like to see this application in the extras repository instead of extras-testing, please give it thumbs up. Thanks!

Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Cool App.
I just started using it today, so I don't know if the system is right for me. The application however is good and simple. An additional feature I think would be useful is a way to change the order of tasks so it is easy to prioritize, and finished tasks should then automatically be moved to the bottom. Thanks for working on this great app. |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Thanks for making this available. One additional suggestion:
I was using this app in the office, until the alarm went off after the first pomodoro... Definitely not something you want to use in public! It would be great if you could be able to choose the alarm sound by selecting profiles, e.g. a short beep or vibration for in the office and a real alarm for home use. If this would be implemented, I would for sure use this app every day as I'm a big fan of the pomodoro technique. |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
could you please update an option for a custom tone like a beep or vibrate instaed of the siren when a pomodoro is finished. Thanks!

Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Just installed it and finished my first 4 pomodoros. I guess I'll test it the rest of the week as well. Most ideas (editing) and change requests (vibration) have already a ticket.
So there's nothing left for me to do besides saying thanks a lot for this great program! icke. |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Thank you(kiitos!) Sakari very much for this great app. I use it daily and couldnīt imagine managing my days without it anymore.
Iīm using it with qtdone and I must say that they work very well together, in qtd you just select a task and ctrl-a ctrl-c, switch (ctrl-backspace)to pomodoro hit add ctrl-v and start your pomodoro, works like a charm. If the world were to be perfect, in qtd there would be a button which would take you to pomodoros add new task view, where you could just estimate your number of pomodoros and hit done, but as I already mentioned it already works almost perfectly(as long as my ctrl button can stand all the copy pasteing:)). Are you still developing and planning any future updates for this? Iīd also like to see the already mentioned break timer and the ability to change the sound implemented in the next possible update. Thank you once more for the great app, it has literally changed my life. |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Thanks for the feedback, it's nice to hear that the app has been useful for you. I'll try to find the time to implement some of the tickets [1] in (hopefully the beginning of) March.

Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Hi everyone
It took a bit longer than I had planned to find the time to do the upgrade, but finally today I promoted the Pomodoro 0.3.0 time management utlity to extras-testing. In this new version
In addition to the new features, the following bugs have been fixed
Feel free to try out the new features and give it a thumbs up if you like it! Sakari |
Re: [Announce] Pomodoro, time & task management application
Thanks for the votes the new version has already received, but I'd like to see at least 3 persons more testing and hopefully voting on the version 0.3.0-2 so that it could be moved from extras-testing to extras.
