wow, digital chocolate really out done themselves with this demo.
although the full version is not released yet, but the demo is exactly the same as iphone's demo.
the quality is really good.
and its for free!!!
so get it now!!! and start having fun

It doesn't work for me - just starts up and then closes. Any ideas on how to debug?

Wow, the game is ~20MB while the Java version is ~300KB IIRC. Must be a big difference.

Nevertheless, its a fun game and I'll make sure to buy it when its released.

EDIT: Kinda big difference from the Java version I see :p

Anyway it tells me I built as high as you can in the free version, but when I press the option to buy the game nothing happens. I guess its on the way though.

The game runs great. Except the game looks "too much" like the iphone version in that it seems quite low resolution. I'm sure N900 is fast enough to run the game at 800x480. Anyways, it's good to see more 3D games coming on.

It has a limit of 30 storeys for the quick game. The full game isn't even available to buy either. =(

Try running it from X Terminal and see whether there's any errors. From the .desktop file, the command-line needs to be:

Thanks! That worked. Didn't realise I had to run the whole line (the rest looked like metadata to me). After running it from the command line, it works from the application launcher as well. Now to try playing it!

Not much to play! The purpose was to entertain our desire and they succeed! Let's see if will bring the full version or they leave us with swollen lips!

im sorry guys but im really disappointed.
is it me or is the fps of the phone really bad?
ive played the same game on the iphone and i see a much clearer and faster game.
is it because the graphics processing of the n900 is comparatively low?
even the scrolling is laggy for the phone. or is there a way you can make everything smoother.
thats the only complaint left for the phone.
the FPS!!
(PS have u seen the awesomeness of bounce?why cant we get a game thats that awesome?)

In my N900 the game runs faster than on f2thak's video, maybe he was running something else in the background? The demo is free anyway, just download it and try it out.

Also, comparing to the iPhone which has a much lower resolution screen is not very helpful.

nono i im commenting AFTER ive played the game.
i think we should make a new thread on improving the overall fps of the phone. im PRITTY sure there is something inside the n900 thats waiting to be unleashed!!
technically the n900 has much better hardware. why are we suffering from fps drops and choppy scrolling?

aah no!its not as smooth as the other phones.its not AS smooth!
its got around 20 25 fps..its WAY faster in the iphone and ipod touch!
please check it out on youtube!

see how laggy it is.

The doesn't run smooth for me at all. I also noticed that the system alerts such as "celluar data not available" slow the game down. I believe it is a matter of coding and setting app priority levels. I wonder is the OC kernel negatively affects the game.

Either way, I am glad to have the demo as I have the full version on my N82. I like the look of the N82 3D version be cause it looks more like 3D instead of the cartoony 3D look of this version. It is nice to use the N900 for mainstream games. That matters a lot to people who own other phones. Many a time people have said OHHHHH ANGRY BIRDS!!!!!! I HAVE THAT ON MY..... but not a word was said about Quake 3, IOQuake, Duke Nuken and all the other techie games that can only be played on the N900 and not readily available for (insert Mobile OS) . Casual access rules in consumers minds.....

Hopefully, more 3D games will come soon.
