Use google translator :P if you have the net.

Re: HELP!how to translate English to Chinese?
oh lol stardict in extra can do that if you add dictionary database to it. But the translate will not be in a sentence, it will be in word.

Re: HELP!how to translate English to Chinese?
Buy a pocket dictionary. No need for internet and you'll learn much more.
Mine was 2.5USD and has served me well. |
Re: HELP!how to translate English to Chinese?
Don't forget phototranslator. Take a photo of text and it will translate it to a chosen language. only any good for printed stuff like menu's timetables, maps, signs etc.
Still a useful tool. Actually you can type in a chosen language and it will show you an output in the translated language in the pane beside it, but i think it does need a internet connection. |

Pick up a local SIM card SIM card with CMCC 100 RMB Turned on GPRS (I guess ChinaTelecom has 3g?) try installing SCIM (otherwise no data chinese entry) Here is what I did when there: One way is to used a huge 1 page txt list for a dictionary and then grep from the command line to find the translations... Download City information via wikitravel.org http://wikitravel.org/en/Beijing Download large data at wifi hot spots - wifi place (Starbucks etc) Do not use Boingo - rip off dictionaries http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=cedict http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php phrases (online) http://chinese.travel-way.net/ 3000 common characters (very nice list you can download so you can view offline) http://www.zein.se/patrick/3000char.html - |
